Hello Everyone!

I'm getting this forum started early for those who are applying to the UF College of Nursing's Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program!

Feel free to get the discussion going... How do you stand among others (GRE, GPA, etc)? Go Gators! :)

Perhaps I'm nervous over nothing, but today I went back to check on the application requirements. I sent in two professional references, since I'm not particularly close to any of my professors from a few years ago. I had thought the details on the application were just obscure enough to allow that... but the wording on the site now states the following:

  • One professional and one academic reference attesting to the applicant's potential for accelerated study.

Do you think I'll be in the clear? My GPA and GRE scores are pretty good, so I figure they'll have proof of studiousness.

I could have sworn that before it said two professional/academic references and not one of each, so they might have just changed it. I'd still check with admissions though, Ken Foote is pretty good at getting back to you within the day if you email him!

I think I remember seeing it say "two professional/academic recommendations" somewhere.

But it did state that it should be one professional AND one academic recommendation in the requirements page. I would call and check with Ken.

Not really as far as I know. Your best bet is to email/call. Or if you live in Gainesville you can go and check in person

Has anyone heard when we will hear decisions? I know based on previous years its been around early to mid-march...

Okay! that's what I was expecting...

on a separate note, I just logged on ISIS and saw that I have a hold from the college of nursing :o

does anyone else have a hold on their accounts?

What hold do you have?

ISIS is the site that holds all of our academic records, registration info, etc. and I have a hold that says a hold has been placed on my record by the college of nursing. In order for me to register I must meet with an academic adviser. I have to call this number ASAP to make an appointment to meet with a Nursing academic adviser
