Hello!
It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.
I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!
I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.
Good luck to all! We got this!

I am SUPER into academics and studying and getting my work done and all that. very Type A when it comes to school. but these types of things make me so nervous!! and so many current ABSN students that I have met at UF talk about how awful their lives are ?
please tell me i am not the only one who is nervous about not being able to handle an ABSN program!
I'm absolutely terrified! You're definitely not alone. I just keep trying to tell myself that a year can fly by, and we will be studying and practicing what we love in clinical and class so it shouldn't feel terrible. Plus, it'll be way worth it in the end!! ?
?♀️ I am nervous but I think it’s good to feel that nervousness. It means we want to do well. I do better when I feel pressure. But, yeah I feel you. When allnurses was down I got my fix by checking the student nurse subreddit and, yikes. There’s A LOT of venting posts. On the other hand, only people who feel super overwhelmed will ask for help so that’s all we’re going to see ?♀️
People are less likely to post “hey guys i have no idea what the big deal is, going great for me!”
I think this form will be a great resource for those who get into whichever campus and are looking/needing a roommate(s)! My fingers are crossed for all. Try not to stress the "22nd".. especially because we may not even find out that day. Just remember, what's supposed to be will be. Xx
Does anyone know if we will be added to a facebook/contact form for those accepted prior to May?
Hi y'all!
I also have avoided commenting since I've been so impatient about the process! I saw there was a couple out-of-state applicants so that makes me feel a little better. I am from Texas, and I'm currently an Allied Health major (I graduate in May). I personally only selected Jax, because my SO is stationed in GA, 30 mins from Jax. It's super intimidating applying to an out of state school when you aren't familiar with the schools and typical applicants, etc. In Texas, most nursing schools are huge on GPA, & exam scores. They don't even allow letters of rec or resumes. So none of my friends can relate to the process I've gone through with Florida schools. I visit Jax pretty much anytime I have a break from school and personally love it! To those that are in the program at Jax, I was wondering if any of y'all worked part time or anything. I went to the UNF "so you wanna be a nurse" program and I remember some of them saying they knew people who still worked. I was just curious as to how much free time there was.
Good luck to everyone!!

Yeah that's a huge expense for a Bachelor's degree. I personally will be trying to claim FL residency since there are typically exemptions for active duty military dependents stationed a certain distance away. If they were to deny my exemption, then I would not attend. It's definitely stressful and I 100% understand where you are coming from!

stay calm and take it one day, one thing at a time!! you are going to do great and you will ultimately end up where you are meant to be!
praying for you ? if you ever need anyone to chat with or vent to, i’m here!
Thank you, I appreciate that

Thank you! Did you consider applying to JU? At that point, wouldn't the price be equivalent? Maybe even less if you were to receive scholarship money from JU?
I've never heard of that school until now? Their deadline was January 15th. I've spent so many hours researching ABSN programs but I had never heard of JU. Ugh! Thank you though!
