UF Accelerated BSN, Summer 2018

Hi all!

It's pretty early on but I'd love to meet and chat with the potential applicants for this program. I also think it'd be great to have this forum in case we stumble upon application questions and such. Maybe some successful applicants in the past may pop in to say hello as well!

What are your feelings about this program or even UF in general? Are you applying to other programs? Where are you from?

I called admissions and they gave me my UF ID over the phone!

Who did you speak with? I have been going back and forth with Admissions via email. They told me to call. I called and was told they do not give it out over the phone and that I had to contact the help desk. I was like I just need my dang number to submit my application!

I'd call admissions again maybe and see if a different person will give it to you because I got mine over the phone from them too. She just asked me questions about my info to confirm my identity. I talked with someone in the post-bac area of the admissions.

Has anyone done the additional assessment? If so, how did you get access to it? And Do you guys know where we have to attach the personal statement and the essay questions? Please help me out!!

Hey there,

I am applying to the 2018 Accelerated Program as well. I emailed Mr. Wynn about these particular directions because they were somewhat vague. It seems that the submission tab for the "Personal Statement" is actually for the question prompts and answers.

Oh Okay! So do we also submit a personal statement or is it just the answers to the questions? And do you know anything about the Assessment?

I am not sure about the assessment. I actually submitted my application the other day. There didn't appear to be any rubric for a personal statement. I went ahead and just answered the questions in the appropriate format and submitted them in the personal statement area. I may end up emailing Wynn and ask him to further clarify the format.

Oh okay, I'm trying to attend office hours but I've just been so busy and whatnot. I just want to do all the things correctly and get it done in time so I can do that assessment thing too

I read that you only have to upload the Pre-req courses into the academic history section. I initially added each course but you do not have to I dont think it says UF requires only the pre-reqs to be entered at the bottom of the page.

Quick question guys. I submitted my app and I'm still taking prereqs (finishing 1 more class in Spring and finishing a few this semester) so my application on nursingCAS says verified not completed. I read that UF doesn't get the app unless it says completed but I feel like mine won't say completed until nursingCAS receives all my transcripts which can't happen until I finish my prereqs...but this will be after the deadline.

There has to be some error in my thinking since UF allows applicants to take prereqs until the spring before matriculation. Just want to make sure I'm doing everything right. Thanks!

I'm also doing some prereqs in the spring. What I did was put the courses in for this semester and the next and just left out th grade since they'll be able to tell I am taking the course now or will be in spring. I'm just going to resend my transcript to UF after fall and then spring so they have my grades and credits. I don't think your courses have to be verified for the application because UF should have an official transcript too. I know mine weren't verified in NursingCAS
