Does it make a difference when you turn in your app?? I hadn't planned to turn mine in until January, but if it makes a difference...

I don't think it makes a difference when you turn your application in, so long as it's by the deadline. One of my professors actually faxed in my letter of rec on the day of the deadline.

No I won't be a problem if the application is in later. Some schools have a "priority deadline" that gets you a quicker review or rarely a quicker response. I just looked and UF doesnt have one but I will still get it in then.

Specializes in ICU.

The deadline is January 15th for a Fall 2010 start date not May 2010. This changes everything for me. Top priority has moved to last. If I wait until Fall 2010 I might as well attend my alma mater USF in Tampa. This is the only school I would of been wasting my time and $$$ for the GRE and I do not like standard test. Later G-ville prospects.

I was told that it doesn't make a difference when you turn in your application as long as it's before the jan. 15 deadline. No matter how early you turn it in we still have to wait til March to hear anything.

This is true but the programs new start date is Fall 2010. I wonder if they will tell you later than March because of the new start date.

Fall 2010? uggghh. I think you are right that it might add waiting time. The bright side is that I can continue to be a CNA and make money to pay for school. I wonder how many applications they get each year.

hello all.

i'm the coordinator for admissions and registration with the college of nursing and i wanted to let everyone know that yes, we have moved the start date to fall 2010 due to changes that are taking place in the curriculum. students who start this year will graduate the following fall, in december 2011.

if you have questions regarding this or any other aspect of the program please feel free to get in touch with me. here's my contact info: http://con.ufl.edu/prospective/prospective_accelerated_bsn_contact_information.shtml

i'm more than happy to help with any questions that you might have.

Hello! I have been lurking around allnurses for a while, but this is my first time posting. I am a current UF student and I am really hoping to get into the accelerated BSN for 2010! I'm really comfortable in Gainesville and would love to stay. I think they have room for around 55-60 people (not sure though), but does anyone know about how many applications they get?

I have no idea how many applications they get each year. But I was told around 55 people get in each year. Glad to hear you are also applying. Have you turned in anything yet?

Hey Marge444,

I was wondering if you could tell me what your typical week looks like. I know it is very intensive and time-consuming. I am probably getting married at the end of this summer and am a little worried about starting this program right after getting married... can you tell me about you or your classmates with significant others, schedules, etc?

I am looking to apply to UF now that it is a fall start in 2010. Right now I am still finishing my BS and will be done in April. I am not taking my GREs until January 16 because that is simply the earliest I can possibly do it. I am going to have only about 2 weeks to study for them as it is! Does anyone think if I have all the other materials submitted, there is may be any feasible shot that I might be waitlisted or should I just not even worry about it. I am from Pittsburgh and ready to try something new. This would be great if it may be possible!

Are you sure you want to wait until the day after the deadline to take the GRE? Try emailing UF and asking if that is okay. I studied 2 weeks and I passed the math section, verbal I will be retrying for the third time.

Oh, does anyone know if the reference letters are allowed to be included with our "package" or should they be mailed seperately.
