HiEveryone!
I am gatorguy3380, and I am planning on applying to the UF Accelerated BSNprogram beginning in 2013! I have been steadily working my way through my prerequisites and am studying for my GRE as we speak. I have been eyeing thisprogram for a while and have found that this thread is a great way to shareexpectations and successes for those pursuing entrance into this prestigiousprogram.
So it seems like everyone on here likes to know each other's "stats."So since I seem to be the originator here you go! I have a BS from FlaglerCollege in St. Augustine that I received 6 years ago. My GPA from my last 60was 3.55. I have completed Human Nutrition, Statistics, Human Growth andDevelopment, and A&P 1, all with A's. My overall college GPA is just a hairover a 3.0. I am currently in Micro and plan on taking A&P II in the springjust prior to admission. I am 32, a male, and used to be a law enforcementofficer. I feel that with a combination of my academics and my personalexperiences, with a solid GRE score (which I haven't taken yet) and stay ontrack with my pre-reqs I stand a good chance of getting in!
Just because I posted my info, there is no need to post yours. I like the ideaof meeting some of my future cohorts on this life course change and createdthis tread so that we could all find a sense of comfort in a tiny sharedcommunity! Good luck to all and I will enjoy interacting with you here!
I agree, it seems like other non UF students would have changes in their ISIS because this is UF's first record of us. Former UF students having their old degree audit info in ISIS also makes sense to enable them to request transcripts. Since they are still in class current UF students maintaining their status quo also makes sense. I think we are all just getting a little anxious for decisions!
I still don't exist on ISIS beyond a log-in name. Hmmmm
If I wasn't accepted I'm going to write a petition because I believe that with my stats I'm worthy of a second look. Interestingly the petition form has questions on it that they don't ask during the normal application process. It reads almost like an interview. There is a second page to the petition form that is a list of items that the petitioner can be scored for. You get points for things such as related work experience and prerequisite course grades.
Question to anyone who's done this before: am I supposed to score myself or does the faculty do this?
When I score myself I come up with 24 out of 25 possible points. But some of the items are rather subjective, such as " written statement reflects organization and clarity of thought."
I going ahead with the essay section of the petition so I'll be ready to respond if I'm not accepted.
i wouldn't put too much stock in ISIS. It would be different if people had all the same info and it was crystal clear. It's not. Like I said before...It only means that someone updated some thing for some reason. I'm sure it is nothing more than that. Just part of the process. Keep optimistic docosa! I'm with ddl77...don't count yourself out over ISIS.
I was told that they would get their decisions out by the end of this week, BUT that was a couple of weeks ago. Things change. I assumed the earliest we would hear anything would be next week. No need to panic yet....save that for next Friday lol :)
Gatorlove, I found the petition on this page: Student Policies and Handbooks » College of Nursing » College of Nursing » University of Florida
Download the pdf for S2-01 and it should be page #5.

@chrisleak, thanks for letting me know. I've given up on trying to interpret ISIS because everyone is getting such different things. I did call the office of admissions just to see if what I was seeing was an error, and they said they did enter my info incorrectly. Because I filed a postbacc app for nursing but was already in another postbacc certificate program, they accidentally put me in as a current nursing student and would work on fixing it. I'll let you guys know what really changes on my profile.
