Hey,
I applied for RN residencies at both UCSF and Stanford during the week of May 10th, 2010. I wanted to hear from anyone who has applied to either program AND has been contacted by a recruiter. Or from anyone who knows for certain (i.e., you work there) when theses decisions will be made. I am a fairly strong candidate and would like to believe I am in the running for a position--but who knows really? I will post if and when I hear anything.
Best of luck.
Graceofarwen,So sorry you didn't get in. I feel you're pain... I found out I didn't get in on Monday... We'll get through this and find jobs!
I'm going to start looking the Sacramento Area. The Bay Area is too depresssing.
You guys should check out UC Davis and sign up for their Job Agent. It will notify you each time a new position opens up for a New Grad, Staff Nurse 1. They don't hire their New Grads all in one big swoop like UCSF and Stanford- they hire them as they are needed on each unit. There have been about 5 posted within the last month. I don't know how many are still open right now- I know that there is at least one for a Transplant/Metabolic Unit, but they do post them very frequently. Good luck!!!

Yes, I agree! Earlier this week, I spent all night just combing the job searches at different facilities. I had stumbled on UCD Medical Center and they had one new grad position in cardiology that closed on 8/10. I got lucky since I found it at 2300 right before the file date closed. They had a few requirements for applying. Only those who did clinical rotations and/or preceptorships in ICU units, telemetry, cardiac floors could apply.
As for LPCH, I know two more of my classmates that were accepted into the program! Also, I know one who is still going in for an interview at SHC today. Good luck if you are still waiting!

Hi Bellissima-
Thanks for the info!! =) For your classmates that go into LPCH- congrats!! do you know what units? Please share :)
Thanks in advance!! :redpinkhe
Hi Graceofarwen.
The PICU just called me out of the blue last week. I never had the PICU added to my status in HR, only my 2 first choice units and the versant program. I already got denied for both those two units. My status for the versant program still says in review though. The PICU managers informed me that they have already selected 3 candidates and that they were deciding if they wanted a 4th or not. So, I basically interviewed for a position that may or may not exist.... kinda sad. They said they would try to make a decision by next week. Are you STILL waiting to hear back from them??
Good luck to all of us still waiting to hear! Anyone else get accepted at LP ??? If so, which unit?
