UCSF RN Residency 2011

Just wanna start this thread about UCSF RN Residency 2011. For those who applied, have you heard anything back?

I was in the August 2010 training program and was so excited and surprised to hear how many people were hired for the March 2011 group. Congratulations to everyone who made it!

They only hired for the adult nursing floors and only hired 1 for peds for my group. At first they weren't even going to have the March 2011 training program because there are at lot of changes that will be going on this year. As someone mentioned, we will be changing our charting system which was why it was said there wasn't going to be a program after my cohort.... until our nurse educator told us to tell our friends in December that there was going to be one! Many people have mentioned that it helps to know an "insider" and I must agree with them that it really really helps.

For those who didn't get in, don't be disappointed. Get involved in the community and NETWORK. Networking is seriously the way to go right now. Volunteer, work as a CNA/PCA, whatever it takes. Good luck!
