UCSF New Graduate RN Residency Program 2018

Published

Hey all!

I graduate with my BSN in April 2018.

I was just curious if anyone has any information about the 2018 Nurse Residency Program at University of California at San Francisco Medical Center? Are they even having residencies in 2018? Anyone know about their timeline and cohorts in previous years?

Although their website says to search for "RN Residency Program" as the keywords, this search pulls nothing up for me.

Any information is appreciated!

Thanks so much!

When did you both interview?

When did you both interview?

Friday June 29. You?

I haven't received anything for references yet! But I interviewed on the 28th. I know the last interview was Friday/29th. Were you guys able to hear when they'll possibly get back to us??

The UD explained to me that they would be giving names of their selected candidates to HR at the end of day Friday after all interviews have been completed and that HR would notify the selected candidates after successful completion of reference check. She said we'd know by end of the week this week, so I anticipate hearing from them soon?

I interviewed for another unit on 6/21, but the last interviews for that unit was 6/25. I received a reference check email on 6/26, but haven't heard back since. Anxious...

Oh really? wait was your interview for the Adult Medical/Surgical ICU on the 9th floor??

If you got ref check email after your interview I'd say you're in pretty good shape! Did your prospective UD give you any contact info in case you wanted to follow up?

The interview took place on the 12th floor on Friday. But MSICU is split between the 9th and 13th floor.

The UD gave me their contact info, I was thinking about following up with an email tomorrow. I just received my license as well, so maybe that may sway things in my favor as well. The wait is absolutely killer! Although the UD explained that the entire process was extremely slow and unpredictable timeline wise too.

Congrats on passing your boards! Thats the next big hurdle I'm trying to prepare for lol. I would definitely follow up tomorrow using the contact method given to you by the UD you interviewed with since it's been a couple weeks.

Will do! I'll let you know how it goes and good luck on your boards. Hopefully we both can be new grads together this upcoming cohort. Thank you for your help!

Sounds good! So long as I pass my boards, I should be starting at UCSF in their CVT unit. Would love to have the option to choose between CVT and MSICU though but nonetheless excited to have an opportunity there. Good luck to you!
