UCSF New Grad Program 2023 Questions

Updated:   Published

Hello all,

I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

Yes people could easily get interviews next week!! I know someone from previous cohorts who got an interview and offer within the same day LOL. So according to their timeline, someone could get an interview as late as the end of the month.

So does this mean that even if we passed to be considered for the second interview we can still not actually interview with them? If that's the case, IDK why they're wasting people's times worrying over this. It's really frustrating.

I remember I applied last round and was in this waiting period for weeks, until I finally got a rejection. However, I failed my NCLEX and let them know that I would have my license past the date they asked for. So IDK if that was what affected my chances. I say don't give up on the hope. keep praying or manifesting. Just stay as positive as possible. Someone once told me your thoughts create your reality so keep telling yourself that you are a UCSF nurse. I wish you the best❤️

For those who are getting references. Do you guys know if nurse preceptors during the precepting semester count as one of the "instructors" that they mentioned?

so I gave 5 references (just in case someone didn't fill out on time)

for managers: I put my current boss , old boss, and preceptor

for others: my clinical senior year faculty person and an english professor

you could put your clinical faculty and preceptor as managers. I didn't know clinical faculty also counted but they do!

Hey! I was wondering if you already received a reference email for your interview yesterday?

I just received an email saying that the job opportunity for medical/surgical-ICU has been cancelled due to a shift in departmental needs? Didn't even interview for this unit so not sure what it means

I reached out to the person who emailed about the medical ICU

this is only applicable for MICU not CVICU and Neurology wheww

Oh my gosh, thank you for following up with them ? my heart dropped seeing that email. Did you interview for the CVICU?

I did

the waiting is the worse
