Hello all,
I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

Hi New_RN33,
When did you interview with ICU for UCSF, and was it adult ICU? Also, did they call or email? And when did you get that notification? I applied for ICU but I haven't heard anything since they said my application would be forwarded to managers, and now I'm starting to worry that I wasn't selected.

Hello New_RN33, do you feel comfortable sharing experience? I just want to know if was there anyone else beside you interviewing for the unit on zoom?

It was a panel of the nurses and managers (total 6) for the med surg unit and for the ICU it was managers and one RN! I was the only interviewee for both interviews.

Thank you! I am expecting similar experience. I have total of 9 people coming for tomorrow's interview. I am NERVOUS LOL. I thought there will be additional applicants present during the interview but I guess that's not the case.

Ooof! 9 is a lot! You'll do great though! They understand you're nervous. Every unit is different, hopefully they make it engaging and conversational! ?

Congrats on getting an interview! When is yours taking place if you don't mind me asking. Best of luck!

Is Adult Surgical the operating room or med surg? I remember the adult general surgery unit was at the kickoff event but I didn't see OR as one of the options
