UCSF New Grad Program 2023 Questions

Hello all, 

I am at the last semester of the ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. I'm expecting to graduate in early Jan and plan to take the NCLEX early Feb and no later than late Feb. I would like to know the timeline for applying to UCSF's nursing new grad Spring program 2023. Any past experiences with UCSF to share will be greatly appreciated.

I have a feeling once you are routed to further consideration, the managers/directors look at you and if you they think you are a good fit, they show an intent to participate in final round interview as panel(And it seems to be at least a minimum of 3 panel director/manager/charge from each unit). So it can be multiple units that could be interviewing you for new grad position.

That's sick! Totally different from what I understood from the webinar. I thought it will be a panel interview with other candidates w/ references, then a final interview solo if you're invited. Seems like your top 3 choices wanted you so it's just one interview!

Yes! I think they are doing it this way now. I am not sure how they done it before but it is definitely too much of unwanted attention haha but as always we will give our best shots! 

What did they tell you during the webinar? I was in the webinar but busy talking with unit nurses LOL

That's exciting, good luck!! I'm bummed it's over zoom again but I guess it's also nice to see who exactly will be interviewing you beforehand so there's no surprises!

I only watched the one they posted, I wasn't able to attend the kick-off. Seems like talking to the nurses paid off ahaha!

Oh no LOL the nurses seem like to be pulled away during the middle of their shift and didn't give much of information tbh. It was regular staff nurses who participated during that breeze kick-off and I wasnt able to meet up with any managers/charge or even directors.

Just a heads up, I was one of the people that received the we will call you emails, I just got called by the unit manager for 10 cvt 6L with are cardiovascular step down units! They are looking at next Weds and Friday!

Just to clarify the email saying they forwarded our applications to managers etc etc?

Has anyone heard back from any peds units for 2nd interview?? I haven't received any calls or emails yet but I was one of the ones who got the email saying that they forwarded my application to unit managers

So far I feel like only I've seen only people who selected adult units have gotten a call, but I could be wrong!
