Listing for the New Nurse Residency Training Program (NNRTP): Registered Nurse Training Programs

Looks like applications open July 30th, and I'm antsy to get my application together after having passed the NCLEX but not getting the Stanford new grad residency ?

According to Spring's cohort (https://allnurses.com/UCSF-new-grad-Spring-t740142/), pay starts at around $72.56. I unfortunately missed the webinar and am not sure where to find a recording. I've emailed them so will be sharing it out if it's available.

Let the commiserating begin~

Hi! Thanks for making this thread, I'm in the same boat. I interviewed for Stanford but here I am LOL. I also missed the webinar dates does anyone happen to know if UCSF requires any letters of recommendation or has any essays to supplement their application?

I believe its no to LORs but they do ask for like five references after you're selected for an interview? I'm about to play the webinar.

Thanks for starting the thread. I was rejected from Stanford too, didn't even interview haha. Just passed NCLEX last week which is a huge relief and feel like I can focus more on applications now and just trying to find work. I am currently in Sonoma County but am willing to go wherever. Curious to know other programs you have all applied to? I also applied to Kaiser NCAL but didn't make it to interviews. Good luck to everyone!

I applied to Kaiser and El Camino with no luck. At the moment I’m waiting to apply for UCSF and then after I officially have my license I’m going to apply to some Sutter Health new grad positions.
I also have an application in with the two HCA hospitals in San Jose for their new grad program that starts in September but I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m not sure if there are any other residency programs that have applications open right now in the Bay Area. Best of luck to everyone it’s definitely a tough time to be a new grad in Northern California.

Thank you for posting the link! I also couldn't access it however. Does anyone know what requirements they have, such as short essay answers? I know in the past they asked for letters of recommendations but just wanted confirmation that this time it is only references. Thank you!!

I also applied to Stanford and Kaiser, but did not get accepted. I had two interviews for Stanford. It definitely is a tough time for sure; I hope everyone is taking care of themselves and staying positive! ❤️

I just looked over the job postings on UCSFs website looks like you can only apply to 3 tracks and you have to rank them in your cover letter. There’s also a DEI statement to respond to in the cover letter. No other requirements I believe.
I’m not sure how I’m gonna approach my cover letter yet.

Thank you for the information! I am surprised at how quick the whole application process is compared to Stanford. There seems to be a lot of different tracks to choose from, which is nice! I am not sure how I will write my cover letter yet either. Were you able to find other ways to access the webinar?

I unfortunately didn’t find a way to access the webinar. It definitely is a quicker process than Stanford I guess they are going through less information before sending out interviews since there are no short answer questions or LORs.

Do we need to have the same cover letter for each application? Wondering if I can tailor my cover letter to each track while still posting my rank order.

Also sorry everyone, link isn't working for me anymore either. I got the link from emailing the contact listed on the webinar.
