Is there anyone lurking who is planning to apply to the 2011 program?
I have spent the last 12 years in financial marketing/communications and am excited to try and change paths into nursing. I am currently taking my prerequisite courses at city college- stats and anatomy/physiology- and going in for the GRE Saturday. I'm volunteering at a children's hospital, which is causing me to consider the pediatric nurse practitioner track... I know UCSF is very competitive and it's a long-shot for someone like me to get in, but I feel like I have to try! If it doesn't happen next year, then I'll just keep building my volunteer experience and re-apply. Also on my mind is that if for some miracle I were to get in how I would pay for it.
But enough about me... what are some other candidates' takes on preperation, interests, anxieties, etc?
For those that have received an answer, did you have to log in to gdapply.ucsf.edu (the site where we submitted our electronic apps) or did you get an email with the decision there? Thanks!
i'm a long time reader...never posted, but had to share: I'M IN FOR PEDS!!!!! Former applicants weren't lying, I had to read the notice multiple times to be sure it said admitted! SO CRAZY EXCITED FOR JUNE!
Tanya- Yes, I was holding my breath for Yale today... and then UCSF came out of no where!! The decision will be VERY difficult. Will you be at Columbia next Friday?
sgmay - Yep, I will definitely be there Friday. Maybe I will see you there. I'm so jealous you already heard back from UCSF. I didn't receive an email yet and can't think of anything else now lol. Even if it's a no, I just want to know ...ya know?!
Hi! As soon as I left work- I checked: in for Family! Such a shock. I had been on edge all day awaiting notification from Yale--- and suddenly unexpected news from UCSF. Congrats to everyone!
...if Yale ever gets back to us that is!
