UCSD New Grad 2017

Thought I'd start a thread for the new grad program at UCSD for Spring 2017!

Anyone applied so far? What units? Wanted to keep each other updated if we hear anything :)

Does anyone know when the New Grad Residency application will become available for the January start date? Also, has anyone been accepted to a position in the Emergency Department? And if so, how are you liking it??

I did! All I know is that they had over 200 applicants.. not sure how many they ended up interviewing... and I think they are only taking 2! I hope they make their decision soon!

I would assume they will probably open it up in october/november for a start position in January. hope that helps!

FYI for anyone who interviewed for new grad L&D and got reference checks: I just spoke with HR and she said that the hiring manager takes about a week to review the references and after that we could expect a call or an email. I'm guessing the call is good news and the email is not so good news. But, it's really hard to even get this far. Good luck to everyone.

FYI for those waiting for UCSD to post other new grad positions: UCSD doesn't have a single overarching residency like sharp or scripps. The individual units post for new grad positions when they have the need and the budget for it. You literally just have to keep checking the jobs website every day. There are no set start dates for a residency, as at sharp and scripps.
