Thought I'd start a thread for the new grad program at UCSD for Spring 2017!
Anyone applied so far? What units? Wanted to keep each other updated if we hear anything :)
There were 3 jobs that posted for April start date. Unfortunatley, the application period ended on the 13th. Don't rely on that nurse residencies guy! He has skipped over multiple San Diego New Grad jobs recently!!! I don't know the status of any of the earlier positions because I was never referred to hiring department for those. I would call HR, but not the department. I just read on the UCSD website that is a no no and they do not like it!
Hi! I hope someone on this thread can answer this. UCSD posted a new grad position in the PCU for their July program on 05/09 and I applied that day. My status hasn't changed from "Applications Recieved" which I know is not a good sign. But the job status still days "open" so I was wondering if people's statuses changed while applications were open or if they started to change after it closed?
I hope someone can answer my question! I'm prepared for the worst but just want to manage my expectations and get information for future UCSD job apps. Thanks!!
It won't ever change until after the position closes to more applicants. If it never changes away from application recieved and Open, it is not a good thing. It means you didn't make it past ATS. I used a different resume than I have ever used this time, so I'm hoping it makes it past ATS as well. The next status is usually Referred to Hiring Department. It can change even more after that, but I think it depends on if the hiring manager bothers to update it. I had one that said Under Consideration once but usually it will say something else. When I got an interview, it changed to that. So hopefully it changes. Don't get too discouraged, there is only 1 opening on that PCU Trauma dept.

Maybe something weird happened and it never got submitted? You should've gotten a confirmation email. I didn't start getting interviews or calls until after I got my license and I bet you will too!! :) Good luck to you too!
