Published Apr 1, 2022
Hi all! I wanted to start a topic for the July 2022 UCSD residency program applications since they close today! My first choice unit is ICU & I will graduate in early May. Good luck everyone!

I was also scheduled for an interview next week (not L&D).
Does anyone know what we should bring? I read on another thread (maybe from this time last year) that applicants were asked to not bring portfolios? Do they even want letters of recommendation or are they just doing a reference check? Do I email the materials or bring a million copies? Do I just show up with a resume? Thanks and rooting for everyone!

Is it an onsite interview? Congratulations! I'm sending you all the positive vibes. My application still says 'received' - I'm wondering if they are starting internal applicants?

Thank you. I believe it is onsite, but maybe I'll be surprised. The call was quick--we decided on a day and they said I would be receiving further info and a reference check via email. I'm an external applicant but I'm not applying for a speciality unit so it's probably less competitive for me.

Hi everyone! I got a call that I'll be interviewing for ICU and PCU!
For those of you still waiting, I was told that:
- Interviews will be from May 2-4 (some units/specialties are only interviewing on certain days though - I was not told which ones, sorry!)
- So far, all interviews will be in-person in one building (so those of you who receive multiple invites don't need to drive from one place to another)
- Interview will be set up like a speed date
I know this is a new thing that UCSD's doing, so hopefully this gives you all direction and insight on the process!

Hey! Can you tell me or DM me with how the references are asked for during this process? And letters of recommendation? Haven’t applied yet, just trying to figure out what to expect for later this year…
