Hello everyone! New Grad Nurse here! Just graduated and wondering if anyone else has applied to the UCSD New Grad Residency? Don’t know if anyone who has applied yet has heard back? My statuses just say “open”.

Hi Jazzies! I’m still in nursing school but I will be graduating next December 2022 so will be in the same boat you were. If you don’t mind me asking, did you have PCU experience and when did you apply?

Hi Rebpace! No I did not have PCU experience, however my PCU is med/onc PCU and I did have oncology exp. I’m really loving my unit and they really treat their new grads really well! Let me know if you have any other questions, I’m happy to answer them!

Hi Nurses! Congratulations on the offer by the way and I’m sure you guys are busy and well into your new grad program:) I am a May 2022 graduate and also interested in applying for L&D. I would love to hear your experience prior (clinicals, preceptorships) and would appreciate any tips or advice from you guys!

go to your school's career center for additional resume help. best of luck ?
Hi Pearjuice,
I just got an interview for this application cycle and you seem pretty knowledgeable so I wanted to ask--what materials did you bring with you/email ahead of the interview? I'm not sure if I should bring a portfolio or just scratch it and bring copies of my resume. I wasn't given any instructions.

Hi Jazzies,
I applied for this cycle and I'm wondering if you could share what you brought to the interview with you as far as materials (portfolio, just your resume, letters of rec?).

I interviewed on the 28th and haven't heard back yet. I did reach out to follow up today and they said they are still finalizing everything for the Feb cohort still.
