UCSD New Grad Residency Jan/Feb 2022

Hello everyone! New Grad Nurse here! Just graduated and wondering if anyone else has applied to the UCSD New Grad Residency? Don’t know if anyone who has applied yet has heard back? My statuses just say “open”.

Hi Nurseynurse! I graduated in December 2021 and I am about to take my NCLEX next week. I got a job offer from UCSD yesterday for PCU! So I think you can still get a "contingent offer" if you don't have your license yet! Best of luck :)

Did you have to provide them with a nursing portfolio? 

Me too!! It’s not looking like it so far though. 
 

I believe they said it was optional, but I had one prepared so I provided it. Did you?

Congratulations Jazzies on your job offer and best of luck for your NCLEX! Do you know if they’re still in the process of sending out offer letters?

Thank you so much! I am not really sure, I know the unit I got hired on only have one spot left but I am not sure about the other ones!

Ah gotcha. I also applied for the tele/pcu floor so just wanted to know because I haven’t heard any news back at all since my interview haha

I turned down my offer for PCU/IMU so hopefully that will open some spots for others! Some units are still conducting interviews and extending offers :)

Fingers crossed ?? May I ask why you turned down the offer? I interviewed for their tele/pcu floor hence the curiosity

I was extended an offer for their emergency department, which was my top choice ?
