Hi!! I wanted to make a group for new nurses who applied to the fall residency program at UCSD. Applications opened 06/27/2022. Comment if you applied!

Congrats! I have a quick question, did they specifically say NICU? or ICU? Im a bit confused on who is going to be interviewing me haha. Did you apply directly to NICU on your application because it only let me choose "ICU" as a first choice and I wanted either interview for surgical ICU or PICU specifically. Im a bit lost on how people said they specifically applied to a specific ICU unit

I applied directly to the NICU and they told me they are calling from the NICU when they called and the panel is mother baby

I know the fall cohort starts in October but does anyone know what day in October it starts or if it's late or early in the month?

Hello all! Congrats to everyone who was referred to a hiring manager! Good luck with the interviews! 

Does anyone else have an application status that still says "application received"? I'm just wondering if they will let you know for sure if you're not going through to a hiring manager.

I was wondering the same thing. Mine says “referred to hiring” but I still haven’t heard anything. I was curious if they would at least let us know we were no longer being considered. I saw a few people recently started getting calls for L&D, so I’m assuming they’ll still be calling for a few more days. But I’m not sure which unit you applied to.

My first choice was oncology. I'm sure if you've been referred to a hiring manager they will reach out eventually (hopefully soon)!

I'm hoping they are still reviewing applications!

No I unfortunately didn't get to do clinicals there due to the pandemic :(. How about yourself?

I did but it wasn’t a regular externship so I felt like she was confused when she asked me about it. She seemed more concerned with whether or not I had done an externship at ucsd (I didn’t)

My app got referred to hiring dept.....and got the call on Wednesday for interview next week...wish everyone luck...

O and applied to BMT 1st choice
