UConn CEIN/BS 2017

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hi all,

I saw a great thread from last year about UConn's 2016 CEIN/BS applicant pool and thought I'd start a new thread for applicants in the 2017 cycle.

I applied for the January 31st deadline. Based on everything I read on last year's thread, I'm thinking I'll hear back anytime between the first week of March and the last week of April - trying to stay patient! I am still working on 2 prerequisite courses but they should be done at the end of March. We'll see how the outstanding courses may affect my decision date. Stamford is my first choice for campus since I currently live/work in NYC and it's not too far away from where I currently am.

I'm excited to hear from anyone else applying to the program and what your application experience is like. Good luck to everyone!

You do get to order the clinical sites by preference; however, this doesn't mean you will get what you want. For example, there were 6 sites for this med-surg coming up and I got my last choice. It totally conflicts with my work schedule; however, they said I have to keep it. They do not pick sites based on your work schedule and will often say that you have to flexible with the school. I did get first choice a few times which was great but you cannot always bank on it. Feel free to ask any more questions! This forum was super helpful for me last year when I was preparing for the program!

Ok, thank you!! How often do you change sites?? If I were unable to work for one rotation I don't think it would be a huge deal. I just hope for it to work out most of the time so I don't lose my spot. Thanks again!!

You change sites 6 times for Fundamentals, Child Health, Behavioral Health, Maternal Newborn, Community, and Med-surg. Good luck!

Hi Everyone! Can someone from the Waterbury campus give me some information on what the schedule looks like? Thank you!!

Does anyone know if you can choose day vs evening clinical times? Do the instructors take into account those who have young children? I'm stressing over child care. Our babysitters are high school kids who aren't available for night care and my husband works rotating nights. Wondering specifically for the Waterbury campus. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I applied for the June 30th deadline but got pushed back to august. Has anyone heard anything yet on decisions for this deadline?

thankx

Eva

E1luna I am waiting to hear from the august deadline too.

Hey! I'm also waiting to hear back from the August deadline. Someone from the program told me I should expect to hear back by the end of the week. Good luck to everyone who hasn't heard back!!

which campuses did you (those waiting for august answers) apply to? waiting is the worst! fingers crossed for you all!!

I applied for avery point. On tuesday I called admissions and was told ive been accepted (but weve been emailing back and forward since december) she just hasnt gotten a chance to mail the letter! Still waiting on letter to make it official. Good luck to everyone!

Yay!! I applied for Storrs 1st choice, Avery Point 2nd. I didn't think they would tell me if I've been accepted for not via email but I don't want to seem like a pest and call too. So nervous!!

Hello again! I called and she said I was put on a wait list. I haven't read of any other wait lists before, is this new? Does anyone know if there's any chance of me actually getting in for 2017? Do spots ever open up? Thanks!
