UCO & OSU-OKC Spring 2015 applicants

Published

Hey everyone,

this is my first time on here and I didn't see any posts about 2015 applicants for UCO and/or OSU-OKC. Just curious if any others are out there and how you feel about your applications.

Would love to hear from you!

I think talking with the advisor would be the best option! She's always been super nice when I've talked to her!

She is definitely super nice! I'll shoot her an email :)

Hey guys! Have any of you taken Microbiology? I'm in it right now, and it is kicking my buns! Does anybody have any study tips, websites, or really any advice that would help? Please and thank you!! :)

No advice here, but I'd love to hear what other people are saying about micro. Still have to take it.

My advice: Take micro at OCCC. I took it this summer with Virginia Hovda. She was top notch. I have also heard that Brenda Breeding (at OCCC) is an excellent choice. Breeding's class was actually the first to fill up during enrollment this summer.

Most of the students that I have spoken to who have taken or are taking micro at OSU-OKC liked/like the material but were/are so overwhelmed with the amount of material. From what I hear it is very time consuming. At this time, OCCC is not using the McGraw Hill , and I think this makes a difference.

Thanks so much for the tips! Unfortunately I have a feeling I am going to have to retake it some other time. If so I'll for sure take it there! Was it extremely difficult taking it over the summer?

Lo_19 - I didn't think it was difficult to take over the summer. There were students who had kids and worked full time who were scoring As on their exams. There was a lecture test, roughly, every week, BUT the tests were taken in the test center. So if the test opened on a Friday, we had until the following Thursday (COB) to complete the test. This helped tremendously. From what I understand, each professor writes their own exams. Hovda's tests were a mixture of true/false, multi-choice, and essay. She provided the essay questions in advance so students could write out their essays and have her review them before the exam. I have heard that there is at least one professor whose tests are all multi-choice. I am guessing that professor's class was the first to fill up this summer.

If you take it at OCCC, take ******.

Anyone hear anything yet? I'm starting to get anxious

I haven't heard anything yet. I am anxious too!

I haven't heard anything either! Hopefully we will know next week!!

Hmm... this is taking forever!!! :p
