Nurses Job Hunt

Updated:   Published

I am posting this forum as a place to discuss the UCLA Winter 2019-2020 RN residency application! As a quick update, the application just opened today Oct 11th and will remain open until Oct 20th.

Good Luck ?

Oh I wasn’t aware they switched systems— do you know when the new system was implemented? My friend applied to her job around 5-6 months ago and saw her status change from “submitted” to “in review” to “routed to supervisor,” but if they changed the system since then her experience wouldn’t be applicable here! ? My application has said “in review” since 11/2— no change yet!

The system changed a month or so before this new round of new grad apps. It probably changed around August-September sometime. I'm not sure if this new system will also include the status "Routed to interviewing supervisor" or not.

I am not sure but I know Ravenclawnurse had mentioned something about the system changing. She's an internal applicant

Yup, the system changed a month or so ago. Although a status change is promising, it just means that a supervisor read your application, and not necessarily that you have gotten an interview.

Thank you for clarifying! Still keeping hope, but trying to be prepared for anything, hahah! My status changed from "in review" today. Applied for #1 Peds and #2 Med/Surg Tele.

Does anyone know if they do separate interview process/rejection emails for each department?

Still no status change from "in review".....I think its the same as routed to interviewing supervisor because as I applied in the past to UCLA it would say that it was routed to..... but I didn't receive an interview invite, it would just change to "closed" LOL

Has anyone else called to see if they would contact us soon? Hopefully “in review” is the new system for getting an interview or at least increased chance of getting one. Good luck everyone!

Ugh! Hopefully !! Fingers crossed

Yes, they do separate rejection emails / interview invites per department (unit). That means its promising if you have seen a status change and have not gotten a rejection for a floor that has already given some out. PS I worked on PEDS recently and the UD is very nice ?

As for interviews, does anyone know how UCLA interviews? Panel vs 1 on 1? Multiple interviews or just a single interview? Group interviews??

@RavenclawNurse So this means, depending on the units we applied to, if we receive a rejection e-mail from one unit, then we are still eligible for the other unit/specialty we applied to? ? thanks for helping us out!!

Yay my application status has finally changed to 'In Review' as of yesterday! Seems like Med-Surg is the last one.

How do you know medsurg is last? What was your other choice if you don’t mind me asking

UCLA first round interviews are typically with you, the unit director, and then possibly another member of the unit's management team.
