UCLA New Grad Summer 2014

Published

Hello,

This is for those who applied to UCLA's Summer 2014 New Graduate Residency program, to exchange information and questions.

Thanks! :)

MsRNAqueelah: Great job! I wish you8the best! I did not apply to UCLA because I did not get my letters of reference in time. I did apply to other new grad programs. Do you mind helping me with my resume and cover letter? Thank you so much and good luck!

I sent you a PM

Hi everyone, so I interviewed 5/12, got my email for reference checks on 5/15 and had all 5 completed by the end of that same day. I know now that all I can do is wait, does anyone know how we recieve the news of either rejection or acceptance? Email for rejection most likely but do they call you for acceptance? Email? The unit director for the unit I applied to said 2-3 weeks to hear back. Anyone have any info on the next step?

Just got my reference request last night!!!! Sending good vibes to everyone!

Good luck everyone. I interviewed with the CTICU and was told I would hear by May 28th about a decision.

Good luck!!! When did you interview?

Thanks! I interviewed last Wednesday. What about you?

I also interviewed for CTICU on May 13. Good luck! Did they let you know how many people they wanted to hire?

When is the start date for this residency program again?

I am curious to know whether everyone who interviewed got a reference check. Anyone have any info on this? I just wonder what it means for our candidacy status to have reference checks.. obviously it's a good sign, but I'm not sure if it means they've made their selections or it's just another way to weed people out?

According to past threads, not everyone gets the reference check email. I think it means we're one step closer, but the job hasn't been offered until you get the call. Good luck! :D

I did not hear anything about that during the interview. It was the fastest 20 minutes of my life

I received my reference check the day after my interview, which was on 5/22. For OR, I hear that they call you first if you got the job before they ask you for references. That's what happened to the March cohorts. Getting a reference check is a good sign, but it does not mean that you have the job until you receive a job offer email/call. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! :)
