It's a great place to work, but can be tough for new grads. The kids are very sick (mostly transplant patients), and the acuity on the floor is high. But in general, we have a great manager and assistant managers, and the nursing staff is friendly and supportive.
Thanks for the insight! I hope to one day get into a Peds floor.
Out of curiosity, did everyone that didn't get a call get a status change on their application to not selected or get a rejection email? I have not received a rejection and my status hasn't changed. Just wondering if I'm on some sort of wait list or something...
Dont give up hope. Ive read on previous cohort threads that those who havent received a rejection letter are still being considered for some positions. You never know! Good luck!
Yes! Don't give up hope yet. If you haven't gotten a rejection letter yet, then you are still eligible to interview! I wasn't called for 1st round of interviews, and then got an email about 1.5 weeks later with an invite. UCLA is looking for the right fit, so they may continue to interview for several units until they meet the right people for the job. Good luck to us all!

Hi guys! I've been working on the peds floor at RRUCLA for the past 2 years, and I've seen some of you on the floor doing your interviews this week and last week. First of all, good luck to all of you! Secondly, I saw that some of you had concerns that you only interviewed with the assistant manager or that you didn't get a tour. For my interview 2 years ago, I met with the assistant manager and I had a tour. Honestly, I don't think either of those things mean anything. Hope that helps calm some nerves.... :)
