UCLA New Grad RN 2013

Hello to all prospective UCLA Nurses!

My name is Matthew and I'm a CSU Long Beach alumnus.

I'm currently working as a Super User RN for the UCLA Health System.

I hope this thread will be able to answer our questions about the application, interview process and a place for any updates anyone receives for the 2013 new grad program.

With that said, I was told by recruitment that applications will be made available in March. :)

I interviewed with the Intermediate Care Unit. They said 1-2 weeks.

I interviewed with 4 North Wing Med/Surg in Santa Monica. But the assistant manager said that if i get selected there will be a second interview. I could be interviewing with any med/surg unit in RR or Santa Monica. I don't know. I am anxiously waiting for a phone call.

I hope we all get jobs. I even made a deal with Buddha that if I get an RN job at UCLA then I will give him a big feast. :) Praying

Hi everyone! I interviewed with General Surgery and was told we would be notified by HR in a week's time.

I also interviewed with General Surgery, have you heard any word from the Unit Director yet? I interviewed last Thursday and I still haven't heard anything and I'm freaking out! It feels like the longest week! Wondering if I should still keeping praying or if the silence is an indication that I'm going to need to move on! :woot:

How did you get an interview with the OR? (if General Surgery means OR? :cautious:)

Hey HopefulNewGrad13, I haven't heard anything either!! I am trying to be as patient as possible lol. Do you know how many they are hiring for this unit??

No it's not OR, General Surgery is a Med-Surg Unit in RR.

Has anyone interviewed for Intermediate Care Unit in Santa Monica? Have you all heard anything?

I interviewed with Intermedicate Care too and haven't heard anything yet. I spoke with the nurse recruiter last week because I got another job offer. She said that the director was starting to go through the candidates last Thursday/Friday....so hopefully they should be getting back to us about the second interview soon.

@nurse danielle. Okay great! Thanks for letting me know. Yea I interviewed for another position out of state and that looks promising. So hopefully we hear back soon.

@solaress. They are calling to schedule panel interviews with the unit. They won't give you much advance notice either. Good luck!!
