UCLA New Grad RN 2013

Hello to all prospective UCLA Nurses!

My name is Matthew and I'm a CSU Long Beach alumnus.

I'm currently working as a Super User RN for the UCLA Health System.

I hope this thread will be able to answer our questions about the application, interview process and a place for any updates anyone receives for the 2013 new grad program.

With that said, I was told by recruitment that applications will be made available in March. :)

Has anyone heard back from the Ortho Unit? Or received a second 2nd interview?

I just got offered a position in the PICU and accepted. I am so excited! I was wondering if anyone knew where to live in the LA area? I am from Northern CA and need to find a place asap. They told me my start date is August 12th really quick. So I need to find a place to live or crash for a little while. Any help or thoughts would be great! Thank you!

Yes, she said it was because PICU starts before everyone else they had to get the calls in today.

no they didn't :/ did they ask you for references? I wonder if we're still in the running, bc i know the other units have gotten calls about getting hired today already...

Omg congrats !!!! I did hear peds starts early . I researched from past cohorts and someone suggested Westwood village , Marina del rey and West hollywood are decent neighborhoods arnd the hospital.(RR campus) I am planning to check them out myself if ("when") i get an offer cuz i live on the east coast .

So far it only looks like PICU has started offers. They apparently start earlier than other units.

I just got a job offer for UCLA CCU/ Med Surg ICU SM!!! SO ITS NOT JUST PICU THATS GETTING PHONE CALLS TODAY! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!
