UCLA New Grad RN 2013

Hello to all prospective UCLA Nurses!

My name is Matthew and I'm a CSU Long Beach alumnus.

I'm currently working as a Super User RN for the UCLA Health System.

I hope this thread will be able to answer our questions about the application, interview process and a place for any updates anyone receives for the 2013 new grad program.

With that said, I was told by recruitment that applications will be made available in March. :)

For people that had a second interview....How much time did you have to prepare for the second interview!? Did they call you and ask you to come in that same week or gave you a couple weeks before setting up the second interview?

They scheduled a 2nd interview during the 1st interview. But every unit is different and i got the impression everyone who got the 1st interview (about 30 people) got a 2nd one. This was for the NTICU.

I was wondering if other units such as L&D got calls for a second interview by any chance?

Hi Rn_MA, I haven't heard of anyone scheduling 2nd interviews yet. She said 2-3 weeks until it is scheduled right? Haven't heard of any ref checks either.

Nope! Haven't heard anything since the first interview... =/ is it safe to assume that it's a wrap? Have you heard anything?

Anyone from 7 North COU get calls for finger prints next week (not counting the people who traveled and did it during the first interview)?

I got a phone call around 10AM today asking me to come in for my live scan next week for CTICU. I was not able to go next week so I drove up today and completed my fingerprinting. When did you interview? I interviewed on the 11th and got a phone call interview on the 15th because the second manager wasn't there. Don't know if interview dates had anything to do with it. Good luck and let me know what happens.

I also interviewed on the 11th but haven't heard or received an email about reference from them since. I guess its safe to say that I am out of the running. Best of luck to you

Hello, I am currently at 7N COU from summer 2012 new grad cohort. Our UD did not do a second interview with us last time. Good luck guys and maybe I'll see you at work! :)
