I'm still hanging out on the waitlist waiting to hear from oncology! As anyone been accepted into that area yet?

JEP2011! I got ur PM and it won't let me reply to your message, I looked at the help page and it said that maybe in your settings you made it so you can't receive private messages? Check it and let me know!

I checked and I have pm's enabled! You have to have a certain number of posts before you can pm :-/ so what I did was went into some forums and answered questions for nursing students and gave advice :-) if that's too much work you could just write it here lol..

Im takin a break from studying for NCLEX, so it probably will be too much work haha; do you want to PM me again and give me a different email and we can talk through there?

For those who got offers from the UDs, have you completed any hire paperwork yet, and if yes how long did it take for HR to contact you?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

hi L&D people!!!! any news yet???????????????????

I got yanked off the waitlist a couple weeks ago (greatest call of my life: "Hello, we were just calling to see if you were still interested in the New Grad program in L&D..."). I did Talentplus, references, and then on 6/21 I had my interview with the UD. She sent me to meet the Assistant UD, tour the unit and meet people.....

.... and now I wait ever-so-politely-yet-nervously. I will PM you, ILoveUCLA, so we don't muddy up this thread with L&D-specific news :)

Any other L&D people - feel free to PM me if you have news or just need to vent some wait-related stress!

Sending out prayers for our Good News - to come somewhat rapidly, I hope.

Sarah

Hey Sarah,

I too am going to meet the assistant UD and tour the unit. Any advice? What did they say the next step was from here? I still can't believe I got the chance to interview!! Yay!

Congrats on the second interview. All I can say is, mainly: be yourself. If I say "well, what I wish I had known/done was _____, and what they will ask is _____", then I'm basically saying "here is how you can do better than I did so you can possibly usurp my job offer" ;) I mean this in honesty and humor, I promise.... I'm sure you understand my playing cards close to my chest in this cutthroat new grad world!

Seriously: The point of the second interview and tour is, in my mind, to make sure that we are a fit for the unit culture and personalities. Therefore, ask sincere questions as they come to you and answer honestly, always keeping in mind that this is potentially the start of a 2+ year relationship. Everyone needs to feel fairly compatible, and as if their needs are met in the relationship, ya know?

Good luck - I think we have fairly good chances if we got second interviews. That pool is much smaller. I look forward to being able to talk to y'all as *coworkers*, not competitors, Lord willing! When is your interview? I think they make hiring decisions as soon as these 2nds are done and processed - possibly sometime next week.
