Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :redbeathe
wow I'm quite mad....I just got a rejection email from the PICU. They should reimburse me the $1000+ Dollars I spent to fly out there twice!
Sorry you had to go through that! One of my classmates flew across the country for an interview after talking with the recruiter at length about the position and her fit for it, and then it turned out the position required experience! Ouch!! I also interviewed out of state and didn't get the position (still wracking my brain why not?!) and I can only tell myself, Why would they knowingly have me come all the way out there unless they really thought I was a good candidate to interview?
Think of it this way, yeah, it's a bummer that you're out $1,000, but you interviewed TWICE with a great facility. The next interview you get, the job is YOURS! That's what I tell myself to keep my spirits up!
you're welcome. i've been looking for a year now. i graduated in May 2010 with a BSN. the first time i applied, i was never notified after the talentplus interview, no waitlist, no official rejection email, nothing. so i assumed i wouldn't be getting an interview. for this round, i applied and followed up this time. i'm a little iffy about follow ups, because in the past, whether i followed up or not, i would get some kind of rejection anyway.tell your daughter good luck as well. the fact that the manager is hiring 10 seems like pretty good odds. i will keep my fingers crossed for us :)
We just don't know how many got interviewed, considering they went through the wait list, maybe good chances. I told her if she does not get it , then move on. Are you applying everywhere? Just focusing SoCal? I hope you visit Indeed.com LPCH and Stanford is open. Good luck to you, I wish you end up getting one soon, keep motivated!

i'm applying anywhere and everywhere. i'd love to stay in CA, just because it's home, you know? i'm open to out-of-state jobs too, but i'd have to pay for the out-of-state license(s), and any other fees that come with those licenses. i want to be guaranteed a job before i bother to fly out. money is a really tight issue, as i'm sure it's the same for all the other new grads out there.
i do check indeed.com (that's how i heard about most of the new grad stuff i've applied to ). when i tried to sneak a peek on the manager's list, it looked like she interviewed 10 in each batch.
I just interviewed with the manager ofliver tx ICU yesterday. I feel it went pretty well :)she said she will be calling everyone next week about her decision. Does anyone know if the interview with the manager is the final step or is there an additional interview (panel interview?)
thank you!
what time did you have your interview? mine was @ 3, so i probably missed you someone mentioned it's the final interview (?) but we'll find out if/when she calls.

mine ended at 2:30 so we probably walked right by each other in the lobby or something! haha
i can't wait for that call. i hope we get it!
Has anyone been able to get in contact with the UD of Acute Pediatrics and found out any info on when they would be notifying people?
I haven't heard anything back. I tried to call the managers and left a message for the one at Ronald Regan but the one for the Santa Monica campus said that she was out of the office until May 23rd. So maybe they are waiting until she gets back on the 23rd to make calls?
ivplease
