Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :redbeathe
I got a phone call back from the PICU on Friday to set up a panel interview (2nd in person interview). It was later at night though (like 7pm my time, which is 5pm CA time), so I wouldn't worry if you didn't get one yet. Just wanted to let you all know, since you all have been keeping me updated! :) Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for the info and congrats! I got that call too. Good luck!

Congrats to you! I interviewed for acute peds last week and haven't heard anything yet. I'm also from out of town and am wondering if you are paying for another flight to cali for the panel interview. The peds directors didn't mention anything to me about a panel interview so that might be specific to PICU. Just thinking about figuring out my finances for the possibility of more traveling. Thanks!

They left me a message, but it sounds like I'm paying for it again. I'm wondering how many interviews there are, I can't afford to keep flying out there, especially when I'm not guaranteed the job. I think PICU is just being really choosy. I read on a thread from last summer and people were saying there was like 3 interviews! After I pay to fly out for this panel interview I'll be almost up to $1000 in flights alone. How much more money do I have to spend?? I'm still in school, graduating in a week, so I'm not really financially stable at this point...I wish they would consider that a little more :/ Does anyone have any insight into the rest of the process?
Hey THAT0023,
I think you should call the nurse manager, the one that interviewed you and tell her your situation. I have read on here and also during when I interview a lot of people from out of state were granted a 3rd interview, so they would not have to fly out again. I believe there is a total of 3 interviews(TALENTPLUS, First inperson interview, Second in person on the unit interview), after all 3 interview I believe the nurse managers decide who they want and call people to notify them. The people who are extremly lucky and the nurse manager really like them probably get hired or a call back right away.
I understand your situation with being a student with no financial stability, it can be tough, hang in there.
Hey All,
I interviewed for the Santa Monica ED on 4/11 and have not heard anything via phone or email. I have been resisting my urge to call since I read AngeeRN's post last week where she said the unit director "said that she's hoping to email everyone by the end of this week with either an offer email or rejection email." I have one other classmate who also interviewed and has heard nothing. Did anyone have a second interview for the ED or is she just going off the first round? Has anyone heard anything yet via phone or email?
I am so anxious about this and really want the position!
Thanks!
Hi All Santa Monica ED Applicants,
I haven't heard anything about the ED position that I interviewed for on 4/11 either. I'm still just waiting, but I hope to hear something soon. The unit directors have extremely difficult jobs of narrowing down a list of highly qualified candidates. I wouldn't want to be in their position because I'm sure anyone that got to interview would make a great addition to their team & it's probably really hard to decide which amazing candidates to reject.
Last week, I called and the unit director was very nice but seemed really busy. She did say that she hoped to be done and notify us by this past Friday, but I haven't heard yet. In my opinion, we may hear back sooner if she has less emails & calls to field. But having said that, I did feel better having spoken with her even for a minute. So if you need to call then you should, I just ask that you share any information that you get with the rest of us nervous wrecks
Has anyone else heard anything from Santa Monica ED? Thanks a lot.
Hello friends, has anyone heard from General Surgery RR UCLA? I interviewed on 4/14 and haven't heard of any news yet either. After the two week mark, I called the HR who directed me to call the UD. I called the UD and was only able to leave a voice mail- since then, I'm back on waiting mode. Hence, any information would be greatly appreciated!
