UCLA New Grad Program 2010

Has anyone heard anything back from the UCLA New Grad Summer Program for 2010? I applied in the beginning of February and have only had a phone interview so far, with no feedback yet. Any info or others' experience would be much appreciated, thank you!

Just so you know they may still be interviewing for the OR because a friend of mine got a call to interview this week. She did decline the offer because she already has another job. Good luck to you and everyone else who is anxiously waiting! I hope you hear soon.

FYI - at my physical they said the orientation classes would be the week of 2/14...one day of general orientation, two days of nursing orientation and one day of computer classes...

NewRNAllie, what is your start date? Is it the 28th but you have orientation stuff ealier? Or is it the week of the 14th?

@truon043 - I emailed the NM to follow up today and she said she will be contacting us via phone by the end of this week (which is... tomorrow? lol). No decisions have been made thus far for NTICU :uhoh21:

@Jymtastics - I believe SM and RR both have different orientation/start dates...when I went for my interview for RR, I was told orientation would start 02/28 and starting at the actual unit is 03/07. I THINKKK SM orientation is on 02/14 (as newRNAllie stated) ... somebody correct me if I'm wrong!

Well I couldn't take it anymore. I followed your lead and emailed one of the people I interviewed with. We've been waiting a month! It's giving me a stomach ache. I just want to know so I can move on!

@robotmonkey- I totally understand where you're coming from. This has been one LONG, nerve-wracking process-- to think that we submitted our applications back in October :uhoh21:

I emailed because I was just getting worried because the NM had specifically said (in the interview and in a follow-up email after our interview) to expect to hear by the end of the month... so I just wanted to confirm whether that meant I wasn't selected. Turns out that they were still interviewing well into the end of the month - which it sounds like other units are doing too. Fingers crossed for you to hear good news soon!

I don't have a start date yet, but the HR person told me my orientation was 2/14...I guess for me there will be a gap between that week and when I start work. But I haven't heard from the unit director yet (since she gave me the job).

I finally heard back from my unit director at SM and she told me to anticipate starting the first week of March due to availability of the computer classes. I guess that means different units have different start dates, at least at SM.

Is anyone as excited am I? lol It's truely a blessing!!!!!! I hope to work and see many of you during our New Grad Experience!

My department (ER) did end up hiring two new grads - they start on the next schedule, which begins February 19th :)
