UCLA New Grad Program 2010

Published

Has anyone heard anything back from the UCLA New Grad Summer Program for 2010? I applied in the beginning of February and have only had a phone interview so far, with no feedback yet. Any info or others' experience would be much appreciated, thank you!

Ahh.. It's seriously so hard to be patient and keep my hopes up. I keep hearing from classmates that they've gotten interviews and offers to programs that I've applied to. I know everyone feels the same.

For those who are interested, they are having two interviews. Mine was supposed to be on Friday but they changed it to next Thursday. I have an 11AM with the nurse recruiter at the main hospital and a 1PM interview with the unit manager at Santa Monica.

It doesn't sound to me like they are in any hurry to complete the interviews because when they changed it they asked me when I would be available. Hang in there, it sounds like they will be doing interviews for a few weeks or so.

thanks for the info!! good luck!

Thank you for the info. Are you planning to stay with Loma Linda?

I will probably stay with Loma Linda. I went today and really liked the atmosphere. They give a lot a personal one on one guidance, you're not one of a crowd. We get 19 shifts with a preceptor and if we want more we just ask. They said they haven't hired new grads in a while and had a ton of applicants this time. I think they hired about 6 of us but only 2 are actually new grads. The others have been RNs or CNAs. I feel good about it too since I got a rejection from UCSD today. They said they want new grads more specialized to their needs- sounds familiar.

Congratulations on the job offer persistancepays! ...Thanks for the update also! =)

Specializes in PICU, OB/GYN.

I did as well... I even had an externship there, so I have no clue what they are looking for!

Seriously! What are they looking for! I volunteered there for years..so I really know the hospital. It's okay, our time will come!

I know! I volunteered there too! Oh well...something has to come along, at least that's what I keep telling myself. I am going to just bury my head in the books and continue studying for the NCLEX.

Yes, something will definitely come along. I know how you feel, I try and tell myself that everyday! Good luck with studying, you can do it!
