Hey, I am currently getting ready to apply to the UCLA MECN program. I went to UCLA yesterday to meet with the nursing advisor and since I have 2 C's, one in psych and one in Stats, she advised me to repeat one of them because I can't have more than one C on my transcripts. I plan on taking Micro this fall. In terms of work experience, I work with an agency facilitating care for end of life patients. I really want to get into the UCLA program but I will also be applying to CSULA, CSUN, CSUCI, CSUSM and USF, Western and
Anyway, I just wanted to create a thread for those applying same time as I so we can discuss. Fyi I will be attending the info session on July 26!
I really want to specialize though so I'm kind of bummed that the MECN doesn't offer a specialty, I would have to do a post-masters program.
How many classes can you have in progress when applying?
If a class is repeated, do they average the two or disregard the lower grade totally?
How much is the program in total?
Do MECN graduates make more in terms of salary than BSNs?

I have been accepted as well!
I am beyond ecstatic right now. Congratulations all! To those of you who have not heard yet, try to be patient because there are probably many more emails to come.
To your question sweetpotatoes, I read that as us receiving a "final" admissions decision from the graduate division of UCLA (not the SON who sent us the email we got today). This email is not an official acceptance. However, this is just a technicality and there is no reason we would not receive an acceptance letter from the graduate division in a few weeks. So bottom line is that we are in!
Hi all--I also applied to the program, and my application status is yet to be updated. Does this mean I've been rejected, or does the program usually send out acceptances in waves?
I was accepted and my status on the portal still says no decision has been made.
Two of my friends started the program last year, one got in the first day they started notifying, 2/10, the other got accepted 2/19. Needless to say she thought she was rejected. Don't give up hope, every email is personalized, it will take RF a while to send out to all applicants!

I just received my acceptance email!!!!! I'm so blown away. For those of you who have received it -- how do you explain the "FINAL" decision letter coming in later?
