Hello All!
I'm applying to UCLA's MECN program this year for Fall 2020. Who else is applying? I hope we can all support each other through this process. ?
What are some of the questions you may have about the application process?

I would assume that if people have been sent waitlist notifications, they have made all the acceptance decisions. Like you, I have not gotten any emails on acceptance/rejection/waitlist. The school may send them out later in the day. I got an acceptance email for Johns Hopkins after 5pm, which would be after 8pm their time.
Unlike the other schools I have applied to, UCLA gives one where they are placed on the list. This is nice because if one has a number, they know likely is very low and can choose to move on rather than hoping.
Just seems odd to send out decisions kind of randomly like they are. I would assume they would send out rejection and acceptance first. See what happens with the acceptance for first day or two, then do the waitlist. I assume there would be a few people who will decline right away, which would allow giving those first couple waitlisted an acceptance offer versus a waitlist.

I spoke to Mark today. He said students offered acceptances have until February 21 to submit a soft acceptance of their admission (not a formal one like submitting a non-refundable enrollment deposit). Based on this, they will start giving waitlist admissions beginning in March. They say they can continue doing this through the summer, which is common.
There is not an update in the graduate application portal; you get an email from him directly.
He also said do not call him, just email. He is probably getting bugged by a lot of people regarding this so just wait until you get your email. I know it’s easier said than done, but we’ve all worked very hard to get to this point. Something good will happen for all of us.
I did come access this portal from one of these previous threads on UCLA MECN. It's the decision portal that is given to those who did get an acceptance email: https://appstatus.grad.ucla.edu/Account/AppStatus.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fAccount%2fLogin.aspx
To use it, use the email address you use for the application. The password is different, thus use the forgotten password. I've tried it and said no decision has been made. This could mean the decision has not bee inputted; maybe I did not get in.

So would this mean that those that haven’t heard anything should assume a rejection? Did he mention anything about that?

That link is specific for the UCLA Graduate Division. You get an email from Mark first notifying you of your conditional acceptance, and that you will be secondarily admitted by the Graduate Division. Once they admit you, an acceptance will be posted there.

I don’t know. I only inquired about the waitlist. I had a friend who got in, so I looked at her acceptance letter and it gave some other details.

Thanks for the update. Weird because people are stating they got waitlist notifications. It could be trolls, but it was observed in the threads for the previous cohorts I saw.
In my case, it is a little easier because I have committed to Johns Hopkins' direct entry MSN program that starts this fall too. I gave up my spot at CSU East Bay's BSN for it. For me, it is more about curiosity if I got in. UCLA tuition is significantly cheaper, but the cost of living is significantly higher comparatively. The cost of the two schools is not that much different. I still have applications for other CSU BSN programs that I'm curious if I got into; I will not choose them over JHU.

Lol I’m definitely not a troll. I did get into Columbia, but the tuition at UCLA would be much more manageable. Plus my partner is here, so I don’t have to worry about rent

Good find ? it’s kind of satisfying to log in, but I’m guessing it’s not updated. It sounds like they are notifying applicants immediately of their decision but it still has to be sent over to grad division and processed on their end before this link will be updated.
