Thread for UCF ‘21 Traditional BSN ❤️
I sent my application in literally at 12:00 am on February 1st... is this application wholistic or first come first serve? Also... does UCF look at your transcript with grades from this semester? 

Aside from that, lmk what your GPA’s and TEAS scores look like. I am way too insecure to post mine and am not sure where I am at. First choice is Daytona, then Orlando, then Cocoa.

I think the decisions for orlando were the only ones to come out just now. I only applied to daytona and cocoa. We should definitely be hearing from them today though.

I am a student at UNF, and I can vouch they are probably the most competitive in the state. They were very quick to reject me for the Summer and I am their own student.

In this last application cycle for the Summer there were 600 applicants (this means 600 applications with no incomplete items, so in reality, it was more than 600). Only 35 were taken. That's between a 5 to 7 percent acceptance rate.

We all need to be strong and remember that we are not the problem, nursing school is. They don't care about your resume nor what the world needs: which is more nurses! They just want more money which is an absolute shame and a disgrace. 

You are so much better. Don't let a rejection that was based on a whole separate agenda that ironically defeats the purpose of nursing decide your fate.

I’m just really bummed out. I got denied for Summer term too. I guess I just need to retake the TEAS. It just sucks they look at scores so hard. If they did an interview and got to meet every single person it might be different. Thank you though. Let’s hope for better luck with other applications.

You are very welcome. You are very smart for not putting all your eggs in one basket! Over the Summer is when a lot more application decisions will come out. What other places did you apply to? I applied to UWF, UNF (fall), UF, and am applying to Valencia ASN/BSN. I also applied to (private) JU but I don't think that is on anyone else's radar on this forum.

I was going to apply to JU but it is just expensive. I’m applying to VC/UCF and SCC/UCD concurrent as well as UNF for fall too. I wonder why I don’t see many people applying to USF.

I'm so sorry that you guys didn't get in ? It was definitely such a competitive year this year with so many applicants. Your stats are great and I'm sure that y'all will get into another program! You're going to be great nurses! Has anyone else been accepted to Cocoa? Also does anyone live in Cocoa and recommend any apartments/places to live?

I apologize this is a long answer to your simple question, but I wanted to put some info about applying to other schools that may be helpful to others! ?

I applied to UWF and UNF for the fall. I didn't apply to FGCU because my first TEAS was barely an 80% too (FGCU only takes the first attempt), and I didn't apply to FSU because my family are gators LOL. HOWEVER, my first HESI score with UF was 89.6 which was awesome and looks more promising (UF only accepts the first HESI attempt). UF seemed to care about you more as a person because UF asked for resumes, awards, experience, etc. UWF literally had the exact same application too through NUrsingCAS except they wanted a Hep. B exam (which was kinda odd). So, if you want to apply to UWF, make an appointment ASAP with your local clinic/doctor to get a Hep. B titer test (they will have to draw blood). My test took a very long time. Either way, I was most impressed by UF and UWF's applications. 

I looked into FIU too, but they required some weird ethics prereq. course that was completely out of the blue. So I couldn't apply there. Did anyone else have that issue?

UNF (my current school) has their own TEAS scoring system that is very different from all the other schools in FL. Respond to this comment if you want me to explain how they do it, as it may change how you study!

I am not sure if you and/or anyone else is considering the military, but if you are like me, PLEASE read the info. below:

If you have any military scholarship and/or are getting one, UNF will offer you early admission because of it! All you need is a 3.5 Undergrad GPA and a 350 TEAS. I am currently going through the process of putting together a NCP (nurse candidate program) package and I will need to take the TEAS one more time to get to that 350 score.
