Hello!
The application window starts January 1st, which is a couple weeks away from now. I am excited to apply though and see what happens. Who else is planning to apply here?
I am planning on applying to both the accelerated and traditional pathways.
Thank you ivoryleola and lexipark!! It is nice to just finally be done with, I've been working on it for awhile. I am right there with you ivoryleola, if I am not mentioning, I am thinking about it about a dozen times a day even while working. It's so stressful, but if it all works out it will be worth it in the end!
Nice to know I'm not the only married one. :) Our poor husbands. Hopefully we can do them proud and wear those scrubs soon!
Heck, I feel bad for some of my coworkers too, though. I have been randomly mentioning this stuff on and off for a while too, so I'm sure they all hate me by now.
Cookies for everyone!!
So surprised about this turn of events! I guess I'm glad about it, it's one less thing to worry about and at least they aren't wasting everyone's time gathering info they don't even use. I bet when last year's applicants find out, they will be pretty mad! lol.
I'm married too! We should have a party, and all of our hubbies can get together and complain about how much we talk about nursing. Haha
My husband didn't like the idea of me being a nurse at first...I think he didn't get that it is a good job, and respectable. He imagined that it was basically cleaning up poop and vomit all the time, and nothing else. Of course that's part of it, but it's a lot more than that as we all know...it requires a ton of knowledge. Now he has really come around to the idea, except he's not too excited about the 12 hour shifts. I can see pluses & minuses to that part.
Hi everyone! lots of competitive people applying for the 2 programs. That's great! I'm applying for the accelerated program as well. I have a 4.0 prereq, 3.81 overall, and an 85 teas. So I'm hoping that's good enough. I'm glad someone mentioned earlier that the backgrounds/fingerprints are due next week. If that was you, thanks. I thought it was way after. Best of luck to everyone.
Hahah I think the husband/boyfriend complaint party sounds perfect! My husband has been my #1 fan and supporter through all of this (especially since I left full time employment to go back to school) but I think he definitely still has the concerns you all have mentioned. Through all of this he has learned so much more about what all it entails.
Welcome ironman! & those are some great stats!
Does anyone know how important the undergrad GPA is? My undergrad GPA is a 3.18 ( I know..embarrassing :/) I never knew how competitive the GPAs in the ABSN programs were until reading this forum and now I'm freaking out that I won't get into any ABSN program anywhere. My prereq GPA should come out to a around a 3.8 GPA, but these were taking post bachelor. Starting to get bummed!

I'm definitely with you guys on the cookie plan haha! I also agree that it helps so much to know you aren't alone in this long path! My husband is also tuning me out at this point lol. I sure hope we all get in and have the chance to meet someday soon :) and congrats to you both on your AA's, you should be very proud!
