Ucf/ssc concurrent nursing program spring 16

Published

Hello, all! I couldn't find any posts on here for anyone applying to the UCF/SSC Concurrent Nursing Program Spring 2016, so I decided to start one myself. I'm currently a UCF student and don't know anyone else applying to this particular semester. Hopefully another eager applicant finds this post so that I know I'm not the only one waiting for decisions!!

Start counting from the last day you could turn in your application (usually that is a Friday). So for example, if tomorrow was the last day to turn in the application, then one week from tomorrow would be one week, two weeks from tomorrow is week two, etc. does that make sense? Semesters before mine found out in 4 weeks. I think because we were the first semester of new curriculum, it took a little longer. Hopefully you guys find out sooner than 6 weeks!

If the last day to turn in your app was 9/11, then tomorrow would be one week.

Thanks blondie333! The last day to turn in the application was a Tuesday, which is strange. 4 weeks would be awesome!

Oh, okay. I'm not sure then. Usually the last day to apply is a Friday and then acceptance emails are sent out on a Friday also.

So do we get a background check and finger printing after we get accepted? Not sure how that works.

Yes. Once accepted, you get a large packet of information and instructions. At that time, you do background check, finger prints, etc.

How long did it take to complete everything? Background check, finger prints, immunizations, etc.? I'm just wondering because I know we will only have November and December to complete it.

About a month. It's not too too bad. Background check, finger printing, drug testing, immunization records, you have to get a TB test, a physical from your doctor clearing you, and a bunch of paperwork. Then there's orientation and we also had three "boot camps" worth of info before the semester started. You have to buy uniforms/equipment, get a parking pass, get your school ID, and probably a couple things I forgot.

Ok. I was just wondering because I was planning on going up North for Christmas and I just wanted to know if I'd be able to get everything done before then. Thank you so much :)

Does anyone know if you can use a recent fingerprinting/drug test done for something else? I have one that was done about a year ago to get my CNA certification, I wonder if they would accept that instead of me having to go through the whole process again.

Nope :/ you have to do it all again.

You have to also complete the UCF stuff. Any holds, any of their online videos, and UCF ID. The immunizations had to be done in a certain timeframe in order to be considered compliant. But Blondie hit the nail on the head with everything else.
