UCF Fall 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi! I just wanted to start a thread for everyone that is applying for UCF's BSN program which will begin this Fall, 2012. I think this would be a great place for everyone to share their concerns, nerves about waiting, or questions. :)

So, how is everyone? Which campus are you applying to?

Yesssssss , she called me back and told me the same thing as well but its two weeks before classes start that you can be called on. But I'm going to call back in mid June and hopefully it will move faster by then because that's when UF and USF make their decisions on the Nursing pro

She sent me my packet on the 23rd. And the "due dates" on the letter are like a week ago lol. Anyway, sent the MOA in today and did some of the required stuff. I just can't wait until this part is all done, I'm scared of forgetting something! I plan on finishing up all the parts I can do without question on my own then compiling a list of doubts to email to Judy and hit her all at once with it.... Plus maybe by that time she will be less busy? Or maybe I'll ask u guys here.So will we only get our textbook/supples list at the nursing orientation?! Anyone know? I just want to dive in already! Lol

I don't know for sure, but I think we will rec more info about supplies and textbooks and uniforms after we've completed the background check, drug test, and everything. Once that is all clear and finished by the end of June, then I think we'll get more information, but that's just my guess. I think the only thing we have to wait until orientation to find out about is our clinical group/ schedule.

And definitely feel free to ask your questions here. I know I'll be doing the same thing, and perhaps someone on here will know the definite answer and you'll get a quicker reply. :)

my friend who did the program said that the CON didn't give out the book list until about 2 weeks before the semester starts...

This may be a stupid question but what is the exact start date for classes??

I got in! I was number 5 on the SSC waitlist! I got done with my immunizations and got done with my lab test! Got my sthetoscope too! Waiting to get some money to order my uniforms and the rest of the stuff!

Hello everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com and I just wanted to say congrats on getting in. I am a prenursing student at UCF as I am still working on a few prerequisites before I apply to CON.

Seeing you all on here, all going through the things I'll be going next spring makes me feel better about this whole process.

Good luck to everyone!!! Strap in! It's going to be one kind of a ride from what I've heard.

Is there anyone out there who is planning on applying to accelerated program (ABSN) that starts in summer 2013?

I am very excited and hopeful that I'll be accepted next year. I already have a bachelor's degree in finance and investments so my #1 choice is the accelerated track, however I will also apply to the basic program as a back up which will then start in the fall of 2013.

Anyone has takes TEAS yet? I took it in spring semester and scored 82. My overall GPA is 3.904 and prerequisite GPA 4.0 so far. I still have 4 prerequisites to complete. Should I retake the TEAS? I heard that scoring 90 or above makes you really competitive.

I appreciate any inputs.

Best,

Welcome to allnurses :) Your stats look very much like mine: Overall GPA 3.95, Pre-req GPA 4.0, TEAS score 82.I got accepted into the UCF BSN generic program, starting Fall 2012.Therefore, I think you will have excellent chances to get into the program of your choice (I think that the accelerated program might be even a tad easier to get in).If you want to play it save you can always re-take the TEAS and try to get a higher score (only the highest score will count so there is no harm in trying).I reccomend that you start or look out for a new thread in this forum to meet students pertaining to your application pool.Hope this helps and good luck!

I was contacted by Valencia just before Memorial Day and told I had been invited to apply to the UCF/Valencia Concurrent program for this fall (2012). The advisor told me that UCF had reopened the application deadline due to not enough applicants meeting the requirements. I was in the fall 2013 Valencia Nursing class. I have since done all the stuff for UCF, but haven't heard back from them. Has anyone heard or does anyone know about the Concurrent program and when they would let us know?? The UCF website says 6-8 weeks, but that would put it at like the end of july/first of August before they would let anyone know. Stressing out here I would love to start my program this fall.!!

Just did my fingerprints! According to Danielle, on Orientation date (June 27) we will get the booklist and everything else except for the fit test, which will be on August.

Hey everyone!

I got waitlisted for ucf fall 2012 nursing and I was told by Judy that I am at the top portion of the list! She said that there were 75 people on the list this year instead of 45 like last year. Everyone got off the list last year. I was wondering if anyone has been called off the list because I am dying to get in and Judy never answered my call or my e-mail lately !! If anyone has any info please let me know!!!

~Kat

I was wait listed as well ! I spoke to her the other day and she said about 10 people were taken off the list and accepted into the program but she also said that the list is going slower this year because this year if you accepted the concurrent position you were taken off the waitlist . And I was told that I was in the top 20 of the list and it's killing me having to wait so long when I was so close !! /:
