UCF Fall 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Hi! I just wanted to start a thread for everyone that is applying for UCF's BSN program which will begin this Fall, 2012. I think this would be a great place for everyone to share their concerns, nerves about waiting, or questions. :)

So, how is everyone? Which campus are you applying to?

I had a meeting with Austin on Monday and he said that within the next week they'll be contacting the first 4-5 people on the list for the program so that will bring everyone a bit closer ! I'm on the waiting list as well and he said I was in the top 20 people so hopefully Im able to get in if it's even a bit like last years wait list . It's all just a big waiting game , be patient and have hope and faith and if we're meant to get in we will , if not Gods got better plans for us (:

Thanks for this! Good information! I have to take two classes during the summer, and I was hoping to get in to the program before investing in the classes.

Anyway, who should I contact to find out where I am on the wait list? I've contacted Judy a couple times regarding this, and I have heard back.

You should call either Judy or Austin , I called Judy the first week I got it and they can't tell you exactly what place you are on the list but about where you stand. Or you could go in and meet with them , I found that a bit more helpful.

I went into the info session at Cocoa today in order to ask Alton (Alton Austin is his name, in that order) a question about my summer elective choice. He said that last year they only had 45 on the waitlist and used almost all of them - which is what we've discussed on this board. This year, however, they put 75 on the list, which is not good news for the people in the middle or second half of the list; they are not in the same place as last year's people...

Got a call back today from Judy. I found out that I am in the middle of the wait list. I'm still so grateful to even be wait listed, and I'm still keeping my head up! She told me that they have already taken a couple people from the wait list, but they do continue to accept people up until a week prior to the beginning of the semester. Yikes!

Two weeks before the beginning of the semester. Alton also mentioned today something about alternates (people who go through the entire background process in hopes that someone doesn't come to orientation...

Hello, this is my first post on allnurses! I am applying to UCF for standard BSN Jan 2013. I have an 81 on the TEAS (although my math and reading were in the 90s) and a 3.66 GPA. My pre-req GPA is a 4.0. Do you think I have a good chance? Should I retake the TEAS?

Thanks for any help you can offer, I am so stressed about this!

Hello fldobielover: I don't think that this is a good thread to find your answers because it is based on a whole different applicant pool. You should post your question as a new thread or wait to see if someone else who is applying to the same program starts one. It usally happens as it gets closer to the official application time window. Good luck!

Has anyone rec further information or a packet from the CON yet? I know we have a somewhat long summer, but I'm anxious to know what our next steps will be and when everything needs to be completed by or when our orientation is and when we choose classes...

Hello can anyone tell me does UCF look at cumulative GPA or just the prereqs GPA? I scored 84% on the TEAS which i see many people got accepted with those scores, but my GPA cumulative is only 3.57 I know the advisor told me i need at least 3.6 but I'm wondering if that will be jus for the prereqs, I already got my AA.
