UCF 2013 Fall-Orlando generic BSN applicants?

Published

Starting a thread for others applying to this program!

It sounds like it was pretty casual and general interview questions.

My problem is, when I get so nervous it is hard

For me to think straight lol! :(

I'm sure all of us will be nervous

So hopefully next week we will get our emails :)

Well the accelerated group was told they'd find out if they got in by next Friday. Since there's people that applied to both programs, wouldn't we have to wait for the ones that got into accelerated to accept their invites before we get invited for interviews? To empty some overlapping spots.. If that makes sense

that sounds about right! @mamakate HOPEFULLY we will hear back sooner though! haha :) wishful thinking...

Hey everyone,

Interviews for the accelerated program went well today. After a little disorganization early on (most of us showed up WAAAAY early and caught them before they had the roll call list and stuff) things were really pleasant. The interview process was more intimate than a scary panel interview with all sorts of tough behavioral questions. It mostly felt like a get-to-know-you sessiona and everyone was very very nice. They also were really excited about the new uniforms, which have black pants and lots of gold UCF embelishments. A bit showy for me, but the coordinator was really happy she wouldn't have to talk to anyone else about not wearing underwear you can see with thin, white scrub bottoms. Don't buy white shoes yet though, not sure if they are going to switch to black to match the pants.

Good luck everyone! It'll be fine!

Also- told that there were about 300 applicants for the Accelerated program overall, whittled down to 100 to interview, with 62 seats to be offered this year. If they keep to a similar formula, you have pretty decent odds if you get that interview letter. :)

I wasn't saying that because of anyone's stats, but because they came back to try and get an applicant they ruled out to fix their application. They made a mistake with my application for accelerated, and had I not fixed it on my own then I was out.

I did not share my story for you to discriminate against me. I am just as eligable to apply as everyone else on here. I was never sent the email for the original backround check, and never asked for a second chance either (although I appreciate it)! Maybe it will happen to you the next time you apply, and you'll see how it feels. I don't have to prove myself to you. Mind your own business.

As I said in my post, my saying that had absolutely nothing to do with you or your eligibility. I don't want to argue with you and I apologize if I offended you. When they couldn't see stuff for my application she pretty much told me I had to figure out how to fix it or that was it. Since they contacted you again about it, it made me wonder if other applicants aren't as competitive and thus, they're reaching out to the more competitive candidates that are missing things like background checks, etc. So it certainly wasn't a dig at you.

I appreciate your apology. I do not want to argue with you either. I felt singled out by your comment because you were referring to my question. I worked very hard to get where I am today, in regards to finally being a competitive applicant to the BSN program. I know you have too. It hurts when others feel like you should not have been given a chance because of something that was out of your control. I did not receive the instructions for the initial background check. How was that my fault?

We've all worked hard to get here and I definitely wasn't trying to single you out. Not getting the instructions wasn't your fault...it seems like all of us that had issues with our apps were due to things we really didn't have any control over either.
