UCF Fall 2018 - Concurrent

U.S.A. Florida

Hello fellow pre- nursing students :geek:!

I am am getting ready to gear up and apply for nursing program at UCF fall 2018! My GPA is not the highest as it is a 3.6. I plan on taking the teas pretty soon. I was wondering what the pool may be like for this upcoming semester. I also plan on applying to SSC and Valencia Concurrent program because the competition is so stiff in central Florida!

Does anyone know how many seats are available for the fall term ?

I was told by a person at the UCF nusing department that there was 76 slots for the SSC campus and 40 for the Valencia - has anyone else heard differently?

My waiting period was right on the 6th week after the deadline (the friday) and trust me it was a nerve wracking experience. After you get the acceptance email it'll fly by so fast. I'm not 100% sure but I think they generally keep the size of the cohort around 100 people where 75% will concurrent UCF students and the other 25% are the generic associates degree students. Also keep in mind that some seats can possibly go to students in my cohort who failed a class this semester and would have to retake it and they basically become part of your cohort (I'm putting it in the stars, you all will get accepted :) ) I'm currently at the end of my 6th week (at SSC/UCF, I was the summer 2018 cohort) so I'm here to answer any question you have about the program!

It is extremely nerve wracking! Do you know if you could still be denied admission even if your application is "Eligible"?

You can be "waitlisted" if you're eligible. And then if there's no seats left in the program (meaning if everyone they originally sent acceptance emails to accepts their seats) then you'll be denied in the end. But to my knowledge, if you're eligible you won't be denied straight out

How long did it take to receive your acceptance letter after your status was updated to "eligible" ?

I don't remember when my application changed to "eligible" but my application deadline was Jan 12th and they emailed us on the 5th or so week saying that the decisions were coming out the following Friday which in the end was exactly 6 weeks after the deadline day

I applied for the UCF/SSC concurrent nursing program for summer and was denied because my one in progress pre requisite made me very uncompetitive. However, up until then it was green and said "eligible" and then it was still green but changed to "denied" meaning I met all the requirements but was not competitive enough. I finished that pre req and reapplied for fall though so fingers crossed lol. I hope that helps!

Dang, I was really hoping that since it said I was Eligible that I would either be admitted or waitlisted, thank you though, that did help but now I'm nervous again!

I am so glad I finally found a forum for Fall 2018. My status changed to eligible this week too and now the wait just seems to go by slower. Good luck to all of you :)

Hey everyone!! Getting super anxious about the upcoming decision on if I will be admitted for fall 2018 Valencia/UCF concurrent nursing program! If it is exactly 6 weeks that we find out, we should be hearing back around the 26 or 27 of June! AH! I am currently 'eligible'. My overall GPA was a 3.6 and my prerequisite GPA was 3.7 and my TEAS was an 84. are these good odds??? I'm terrified !!

Hey guys! I received an email from UCF today that I am accepted into the SSC/UCF program. Has anyone heard anything back yet?
