UCF Cocoa

Is anyone applying for UCF at the Cocoa/Daytona campus for Spring semester 2011? I've been working at this for soooo long and I was hoping to find other people out there too for moral support!

Thanks for the information on how they rank. I've met with an advisor at Cocoa twice and was never told how they rank applicants. There were no information sessions this term either, at least not on their website. Did they happen to tell where the cutoff in points was last term?

Hi Nurse2be10,

I was told that the last class that will start in Orlando this fall cut off at a number in the 70s. Not very specific. We can't compare to last year's cut-off number for Cocoa because they used a different criteria / formula than is being used this year. They first used this formula for the Accelerated program that started this summer, they used it for the incoming Orlando class, and now they are using it for us. Next year, I was told it would be different. Somehow, they are going to add point values for the TEAS test so that those who do better on the TEAS will get additional points.

Thanks for the info!! That cut off is promising! Its hard to say because Orlando takes so many more applicants than Cocoa/Daytona. The good news is they are reviewing and, according to the website, we will know BY Sept 1. I am just ready to know and move on. I am going to apply at BCC as a backup but really really want UCF. Good luck and with some good fortune, we could be classmates in January!

Does anyone know what the class schedule is like? I am trying to determine if I can keep my FT job.

Yikes, I can't even imagine going to school full time! I'm worried about where I'm going to find the time to study as it is.

I don't know what the schedule is going to be like - I just imagine that it's going to very taxing.

What kind of job would you be doing while going through the nursing program?

the class schedule is located on the website http://www.catalog.sdes.ucf.edu/Default.aspx

Hey everyone!!! I also applied to UCF Cocoa campus for nursing Spring 2011. I'm so nervous! I was just reading this whole post and I remember from the information session I attended that I wrote down we find out 6 weeks after the deadline whether or not we got accepted! I wonder how many people are applying?

Hello - Has anyone received a letter yet? I know its only been 5 weeks and they said expect 6+ but I'm not very good at patience, just wanted to know if anyone has heard yet!

I haven't heard anything yet and I am anxiously awaiting a letter. I hope it's sooner rather than later!

Glad at least that I'm not the only one anxiously waiting to hear. I really figured that we'd hear this week. A group of nursing applicants on allnurses last year found out the first week of August so I thought maybe we would too. Plus all of the undergraduate faculty and staff at Orlando are moving locations next week to the research park so I was hoping they'd would want to notify us before they pack up all of the files and move. If we don't hear before they start moving then who knows when they will get to it. Best of luck to everyone!

I hope you are right and it comes soon. I had prepared myself to wait until the first week of September, so if it comes any day I will be ecstatic!

Gosh!! I hope we find out soon! That would be Awesome! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!! :) :)
