Hello everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com and I just wanted to say congrats to those who got into the 2012 UCF nursing program this summer.
I am a prenursing student at UCF as I am still working on a few prerequisites before I apply to CON.
Seeing you all on here, all going through the things I'll be going through next spring makes me feel better about this whole process.
Good luck to everyone!!! Strap in! It's going to be one kind of a ride from what I've heard.
Is there anyone out there who is planning on applying to accelerated program (ABSN) that starts in summer 2013? I'm starting this thread in hopes of finding many of you who wouldn't mind going through this somewhat stressful process together! :)
I am very excited and hopeful that I'll be accepted next year. I already have a bachelor's degree in finance and investments so my #1 choice is the accelerated route, however I will also apply to the basic program as a back up option, which will start in the fall of 2013.
Anyone has taken TEAS yet? I took it in spring semester and scored 82. My overall GPA is 3.90 and prerequisite GPA 4.0 so far. I still have 4 prerequisites to complete. Should I retake the TEAS? I heard that scoring 90 or above makes you really competitive.
Thanks for all of your responses.
Best of luck!!!
Hi guys,
I've been thinking about about one thing now that we're approaching the deadline for submitting our applications.
If the TEAS was taken at UCF testing center that means that one does NOT have to submit the official score from ATI testing to CON, right?
From what I understand they send it to CON automatically?
I think I'm just getting a lil nervous and I just want to make sure that everything Is done correctly.
Thanks.
I was worried about the same thing. I called the CON and the guy thought they sent them but told me to call the testing center just in case. The testing center said that it automatically goes to whatever school you put on your ATI account. If you look at your test results it should say UCF as the institution.
Application away! (tonight, that is). Finally. I had to wait because I took the TEAS for the second time this past Monday at UCF, and my score went up 5% from my December attempt... woot.
Feels so good to get it submitted.
I also learned today I have been offered an Interview spot at UNF in March, but UCF of course is my first choice before them because I live here now.
Nonetheless, the waiting now begins! :)
Hello everyone!!!! I am new to this discussion board as I just found it this morning. I am in the same boat as the rest of you. I have recently applied to both the accelerated and the basic BSN programs at UCF. I am really nervous about getting in because there are so many applicants with really great stats and my overall GPA is not so hot (3.2). I am also very nervous about the interview (if I am so lucky to get one). My academic advisor said that career services has some mach interview questions and that they can help you prepare so I hope that will help some of you! Best of luck to all of you!!!
My stats:
overall GPA: 3.2
prereq GPA: 4.0
TEAS score: 93.3
I've gotten mixed messages from the UCF CON - do we need the immunization form (university form not CON one) in by the app deadline?
I went to the info session, they walked us through the entire process and the only thing they said had to be done by the deadline was the background check..

The woman who did the info session said a competitive gpa was a 3.5 but a 4.0 prereq and that TEAS score should even the odds!
Hi lexicuf,
I'm not sure if anyone answered your question yet, but I had the same one. When I called UCF they told me that the registrar's office might not have gotten to completing the degree audit. She said to call them and ask them about it. Until then, she told me to look at the "Transfer Summary Report" (it's in the same drop down list as degree audit), and it should show your classes.
Good luck!

Thanks so much! I'll give my previous employer and CP a call tomorrow morning. At the bottom of mine it lists that VOE must be completed by fax, so I'm guessing they're just waiting on that. I'll have to get on my old HR person to get it sent in ASAP :)
