Hello everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com and I just wanted to say congrats to those who got into the 2012 UCF nursing program this summer.
I am a prenursing student at UCF as I am still working on a few prerequisites before I apply to CON.
Seeing you all on here, all going through the things I'll be going through next spring makes me feel better about this whole process.
Good luck to everyone!!! Strap in! It's going to be one kind of a ride from what I've heard.
Is there anyone out there who is planning on applying to accelerated program (ABSN) that starts in summer 2013? I'm starting this thread in hopes of finding many of you who wouldn't mind going through this somewhat stressful process together! :)
I am very excited and hopeful that I'll be accepted next year. I already have a bachelor's degree in finance and investments so my #1 choice is the accelerated route, however I will also apply to the basic program as a back up option, which will start in the fall of 2013.
Anyone has taken TEAS yet? I took it in spring semester and scored 82. My overall GPA is 3.90 and prerequisite GPA 4.0 so far. I still have 4 prerequisites to complete. Should I retake the TEAS? I heard that scoring 90 or above makes you really competitive.
Thanks for all of your responses.
Best of luck!!!
Glad to know there's still hope for today :) If they're closed next week, then they'd definitely have to let us know today, or one would hope!
If they were to release decisions about the interview candidates you would have been after 5 pm. So we still have time. :)I'm not sure about the CON being open next week. If they're closed they better release the news today. :)
If you weren't vaccinated for certain things because you had the virus (like chicken pox), you just get a titer (blood drawn and tested for antibodies) done at your dr.'s office or clinic. I had to get a varicella titer for my CNA course because I was never vaccinated for chicken pox but had it as a child.
I know about the titers but the costs really add up especially if u end up needing the vaccine anyway!! I need one vaccine just for manditory form so hoping for a comprehensive list from con so I can get it all done at once.
9 days until the cutoff for the interview letters! And performance review time at work. Anxiety has taken on an entirely new level.
I have started prepping for my interview by listing basic questions and answering them in the mirror. I use the STAR method ( situation, task, approach, and result) when answering behavioral questions. I need to practice reducing nervousness.
And the vaccines, I too had spotty shot records, so I just got the titer.
