@StudentNurse1221 My heart goes out to you!Has anyone ever reviewed your cover letter or resume...? Private Message me if you would like me to review your materials! I am starting a residency program at Stanford in a few weeks. I am not an expert but would like to offer assistance if you'd like it.

As others have said, it is just a very competitive market. I was a volunteer for 18 months in the ED at Thornton and the 3GH ICU at Jacobs, rotated through the ICU three times during nursing school (so, over 300 hours in the ICU), including 90 hours in CV ICU at UCSD, graduated magna cum laude/phi beta kappa from top 10 liberal arts college and a top 3 law school, and worked for top consulting, banking, and law firms before going into nursing. I am a current health services disaster volunteer with the Red Cross, a veteran of Army Special Operation, and work as a tech at the county psych hospital. I didn't even get an interview either. It just takes time. We haven't even taken the NCLEX. They will get to us eventually.

Hi JFO93,
CONGRATULATIONS - I am excited for you and your success! That is where I completed my senior preceptorship, it is a wonderful place to be.
I would really like to reach out and ask if you could take a look at my resume in private - I will try reaching out now! Thank you so much.

I interviewed yesterday for them. They sent me an Invitation to interview about 2 weeks ago. The next steps are reference checks and then they make final offers after they “rate the responses for the references”.
Good luck!

Congrats on your interview! How did it go?! Do you have your license yet? I don't even have my ATT yet so I'm wondering if that's making me a less desirable candidate (as well as just being a super competitive market right now!)

It went very well. This way my 3rd interview with UCSD. I just got one denial from the PCU I Interviewed for 3 weeks ago today ? I do have my license but they said they hire one in July and one in October so if you have not gotten your ATT they offer you a later start date. They mentioned the majority of their applicants had no license and just graduated in may.
UCSD asks simple behavioral questions, “tell me about a time” type of thing.
no clinical or case study LOL
good luck!
