I wanted to start a thread on the upcoming residency program for UC Davis for Summer/Fall 2016!
Who has applied so far? What units?
Wanted to keep each other updated if we hear anything. :)
I said on the app that I wanted L&D (or postpartum)
Good luck everyone!!
Has anyone heard from med/sure or telemetry units? My application still says routed... Any one else in the same boat for the sake of solidarity?
Hi! I spoke a recruiter last week and she said it's ok to maintain hope to be called for an interview up until end of July. After July just "have little hope." Not the best news. All I can say is keep putting in your apps lots of places, but make sure you tailor each resume and cover letter to the job. And check out Jobscan.

Ps. She also said that my app status as "routed," meant nothing. They couldn't tell me if my app was passed on to anyone or whether I even passed the talent assessment.
Sodaybay and Sagittariusnurse, I hope you both hear soon. I know UCDMC does interview very close to the start date. For perinatal the interviews were July 6-20th (but don't know about any other unit) so I hope you get a call this week. Also some managers take longer than others to review references/make offers it just varies.
For those who interviewed with perinatal-- today when I called it looks like it can take another week to make decisions but definitely call back in 2 wks if you haven't heard anything (that's the advice I got from the recruiter).
Also my application status says routed even though the unit I interviewed for is done interviewing as of today. So it doesn't tell us much unfortunately :/
Hi Passion4womenshealth,
I just interviewed on the 20th, and they said they would let us know in a couple of weeks! Hoping for the best for us all :)

OMG, couple of weeks?!! But theres only 5 ish weeks left until the new grad program starts LOL. Maybe I should stop being so impatient haha. How did your interview go!?(I'm assuming the tour at the end and scrub talk is done for all candidates!?) Did you get a skills survey? Do you know how many ppl were interviewed for the August perinatal cohort?
I asked way too many Qs but thanks for the update jayylay, I appreciate it

Totally understand! I am not sure how many people actually interviewed, but when they called me for the interview they said they called about 6 other people at least. Got the skills survey but just waiting for references to respond at this point :) The tour was awesome and really impressive!
Thanks for the info! Well when I talked to the recruiter, he said said that getting the reference check means you're a strong/top candidate so good news! Yes it's such a nice unit(s) and awesome to hear that we would get trained in pp, triage, ante, and labor one by one if we got in. That's so comprehensive and it would make us such great competent well-rounded maternal health nurses I bet Good luck, let's keep one another in the loop. Hoping for the best

Thanks for sharing passion4womenshealth! that makes me more hopeful :) hoping for the best for all of us! Definitely really empowering to have so much training w/ a huge scope of practice! Fingers crossed!!!
Jayylay, did you go to school in the Sac area/or live near the medical center? If I did get the position I would be moving from 2 hours away and would need to arrange for an apartment as well as a car! That's the tricky part because I can't further arrange anything until there is a offer in place. Hopefully we know soon and have ample time to make the transition.

I believe we are suppose to hear about offers this week(from what nurse recruitment told me last Friday)! Good luck everyone :)
Also a Q if anyone knows the answer. Does the orientation include certifications like ACLS, BLS, NRP?
