I wanted to start a thread on the upcoming residency program for UC Davis for Summer/Fall 2016!

Who has applied so far? What units?

Wanted to keep each other updated if we hear anything. :)

I said on the app that I wanted L&D (or postpartum)

I live about an hour away, and was thinking of renting rooms or hotel for the times of long shifts for the time being until learning more about the area. Keep in touch though! My references were all completed yesterday so now they can make final decisions! Hoping for the best!

Yay hope everyone has their references in so the managers can pick the 2 maternity new grads soon!! :) I am somewhat familiar with Sac and know that midtown is a nicer area to live bc of the restaurants, bars, coffee shops. I was looking on craiglist and there are rooms for rent ranging from 475-600 in midtown and that sounds so nice coming from the bay area LOL. Yes lets keep each other updated.

BTW are we the only two who got reference checks for maternity? Anyone else? Also assuming that not everyone who got interviewed/got skills survey uses Allnurses of course!

Haven't heard from any other candidates for maternity! I am hoping that the reference survey is the best indicator. :) Thanks for the info about Sac! I am really excited to explore and totally love that its not as expensive as bay area living :)

I am really hoping so too, fingers & toes crossed. I'll update this thread once I hear back yay or nay. Until then I'm going to be patient(or try at least haha!). Good luck to all

Maternity folks- i called HR today and was told that maternity unit has yet to make their decisions. Its crazy how the start date would be this month and we don't know yet.

Me neither! I called HR and was told if I don't hear anything by Friday then it's safe to assume I didn't get the spot

What really? Why didn't HR mention Friday cut off to me I just got off the phone with them. I wonder if everyone has finished their skills survey - that could be a possible hold up?

I talked to HR about 30 min ago and the lady didn't give me any good info, just told me she has no idea if maternity made a decision or not. It's not an official cut off date. She just assumed lol. Is HR in charge of calling the candidates with the decision or the unit manager? Maybe they already called the 2 people
