I wanted to start a thread on the upcoming residency program for UC Davis for Summer/Fall 2016!

Who has applied so far? What units?

Wanted to keep each other updated if we hear anything. :)

I said on the app that I wanted L&D (or postpartum)

Good luck everyone!!

I applied and said I wanted any of the ICU or tele units.

Krondike, good luck to you!!! It seems like there's sooo many applicants each time so I hope we can get thru.

I hope so! I gave up my nurse residency position at Vanderbilt for this and UCLA's nurse residency program.

tenta, it looks like you applied to UCLA nurse residency program as well. Have you heard anything back? I have a interview for a CTICU position with them.

Maybe it's because I applied to so many new grad programs, but I don't recall during the application process where to specify which units I would like to be in. Or rather, didn't let me choose a unit I'd like to be in.

Is it probably the part after you click accept and sign your life away that everything is true and stuff?

From previous cohorts, I heard they choose the unit that best matches your capstone/preceptor last semester internship.

I could be wrong, but I'm just overanalyzing that's all. Thanks for clarifying!

Hey guys,

I recognize some of you from the UCLA new grad thread.

What I've heard from my clinical instructors at UCD that are also hiring managers for the new grad program: they hire you into the unit you did your preceptorship in.

With that in mind, I'm hoping to land a spot with oncology (where I precepted). Good luck everyone.

Does anyone have any idea how many applicants they have taken in the past? Just trying to figure out the odds of actually getting in:)

Just called HR, and they said average 30 to 40 applicants are chosen.

Operating room here :)
