UC Davis MEPN 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Just wanted to start a thread to see who is applying to this program and be able to share updates!

Hi all. I am applying and very excited! It feels like I've been waiting years to finally have all my courses and prerequisites lined up. I am switching fields and very excited to enter nursing, but coming from a social science background has definitely slowed me down. I plan on submitting my application as soon as my current semester grades are available for my transcript. How is the process going for everyone?

I have the same feeling! I feel like it's been a long time coming preparing and preparing and I am so excited to finally apply! I just found out that UC Davis has a MEPN and I'm glad I found out just in time to apply. I started my NursingCAS application today - step by step getting everything together. How is everything going for you? (I think I replied to you in the 2018 thread, I was able to find the 2019 one lol)

Hi! Sorry I've been very busy and didn't see that I had a reply here!

I'm feeling like its going fine so far. It took a full day to input all my classes and I'm still working on the various essays that Davis requires. I know for NursingCAS it only lists wanting one, but its a blend of the three other essays the UCD graduate admissions requires to I'm writing them all separately and then trying to piece them into one...I hate talking about myself so it has been a struggle for me!

I do feel confident in my grades and my recommendations. I'm a bit anxious about the timeline of it all - I wish it didn't take a full year to be admitted but I'll jump through the hoops if I have to as it is my first choice program!

How is it going for you?

Hi there! I'm also applying for the 2019 MEPN cohort, and I'm so excited! Due to Davis requiring more communications classes than any other school I'm looking at, I'm taking my last class (done July 27) and then turning in my application! How many other schools are you applying to? I really like Davis (I would definitely say it's in my top 2) but I know that since it's competitive, that I should apply to more programs to increase my chances of getting in anywhere and getting to school on a good timeline!I'm so looking forward to following along with your journeys as well! Good luck!!

Hey! Agreed talking about myself is difficult! I know that there is only one essay on the nursing cas application, do you know if there is another one needed for the second round in december?

Hi Hope! I am applying to 2-3 other schools, I think UCD is my second choice. Where else are you thinking of applying?

Hi! I'm applying to 10 other schools, and I'm trying not to get my hopes up,but Davis is high on my list.

Others I'm applying to (in no particular order):

1. UCLA

2. MGH

3. SFSU

4. Seattle U

5. Western

6. Azusa Pacific

7.Northeastern

8. Simmons

9. UMASS Worcester

10. Johns Hopkins

I'll be keeping good thoughts for the two of you, I'm sure you'll rock it! I'm so nervous but I'm just so ready to get it over with and know where I'm going (I'd love Davis and hoping it's meant to be, but if not, I'll hopefully find the right place for me)! I'm going to submit on the 26th hopefully (by then I can enter my unofficial grade into NursingCAS)

Have you sent in the finalized app yet?

Looks like a great list!! Davis is probably my second choice it looks like a great program. Since I grew up near Sacramento I am trying to move further away for school so I am hoping for University of San Diego as my first, and then UCLA as my third.

I am waiting for my advisor to look over my personal statement again just for a final check and then I will submit this weekend. I am definitely anxious to just be done with it and know where I will end up. Good luck to you too keep us posted! :)

Hi guys! I am finishing up my application for the 2019 cohort as well! Do we submit our official transcripts electronically or hard copies to the university? best of luck to everybody!! :)

I sent mine through parchment which gave me an option to send to NursingCAS. So you can either send electronically to Nursing CAS or through mail, I don't think they have to be sent to the university directly from my understanding!
