Hey New Grads! I just wanted to start a post about the upcoming New Grad RN program at UC Davis. I thought it would be nice, and anxiety calming, to start a thread to share about the application process. I just finished my application. I was surprised there were no supplemental questions to fill out. Anyways, Good luck to everyone!
Oh yeah, Anyone else apply for previous cohorts? Maybe you could share some insight into the process. I'm hoping for a transplant position, I LOVE transplant nursing. I spent 2 rotations on a transplant unit in school in Colorado and LOVED it.
Of course it's not. If you remember in 2010, University of California's highest paid executives were earning more than $245,000 and were fighting to earn more. I am sure that goes the same for the execs of the hospitals.
Just called Nurse Recruitment. The woman who answered said that they have just started to screen the applications and will be holding interviews sometime in May. We will not be notified of open departments until a month before the start date (which doesn't make sense, because why would they hire someone who is interested in PED's if only... Med/Surg positions were open?) Oh well, hope that little bit of information helps!
Ahhh the wait is horrible. I don't understand why applications were due about three weeks ago and they are just being reviewed now. Crossing fingers and wishing everyone good luck!
This will be my second time applying the UCDM. I am excited about it. I recently spoke with the Nurse Recuriter and found out a little more information. Here it is:

Units hiring;
trama,icu,pedi,GI lab, Vascular GI, Transplant, orthopedics and medsurg.
They will start calling people mid may-june. Okay God bless.
wow, I'm surprised trauma (assuming TNU?), GI/Vascular, Transplant and med-surg are hiring again this cohort. I know that TNU just hired 7 new grads this past cohort. Oh but this is great news for us still job hunting! :)
When did you call? I called today and was given this info about the program for summer. Mid may is when they are going to start call backs, but the nurse recruiter mentioned that they will not know how many ppl are needed in each department yet. When I was on the phone with the Nurse recruiter, the nurse recruiter placed me on hold to grab the list of departments that requested ppl. So lets see.

I spoke with the manager in peds. She is not hiring again. The recruiter said late may early June is when they will do interviews.
